Mount Isa Athletics Club Mount Isa Athletics is a family orientated organization. We encourage personal advancement through fun, family involvement and good sportsmanship.

Being an ANQ affiliated club means that we cater for athletes turning 4 this year to 100+. The Mount Isa Athletics Club is one of the largest athletic club in North Queensland, and encourage any body no matter what your age or ability to have a go. Please be aware that not all of the registration fees are kept by the Club as a fixed amount is payable by the club to the Athletics Governing Bodies.

Mount Isa Athletics Club crew travelled to Longreach for the Annual Outback Sunset Carnival!

Our athletes absolutely smashed it — PBs were flying, long-standing records were broken, age champions were announced , and plenty of hardware came home! 🥇🥈🥉

🌟 RECORD BREAKERS! 🌟

💥 Zeke Takurit — U6 Boys
At just 6 years old, Zeke absolutely sent it in the shot put, breaking the long-standing record with an incredible 5.64m throw! 🥇🔥

💥 Jacob Takurit — Masters
Jacob backed up another huge weekend by breaking his own Longreach meet record in the discus, throwing just shy of 40m! 💪🏽🔥

We were also incredibly proud to have two of our club members, Nefertiti Mbaugu and Alara Crofts, qualify for the prestigious invitational Toobrack Handicap Race!

And what an effort from Nefertiti, finishing a sensational 2nd place in a very close race! 🥈🔥 What a way to represent Mount Isa!

A huge congratulations to ALL our athletes who competed over the weekend. From smashing PBs and breaking records, to learning new lessons, supporting teammates and bringing home some serious hardware — you all represented Mount Isa Athletics Club with pride! 💙💛
