We have just been informed that the original Sensei of Seishikan Karate in Australia, Hanshi Masao Tada, has passed away.

It was his drive and technical excellence that made Seishikan such a strong school, and we will always be indebted to the passion he poured into Seishikan Karate.

A big welcome to Hudson Von Stanke (front), the 4th generation of his family to train under Phil Shihan (back left) and Alba Shihan.

Hudson’s great-grandfather, John Von Stanke, started training in 1980, followed by his grandfather, Wade Von Stanke (back right), in 1985 and finally his father, Ethan Von Stanke, in the early 2003.

What a special tradition to be a part of!

Once again, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended last weekend's 50th anniversary celebration dinner. A special shout out to those who travelled from Adelaide, Mount Barker, Ballarat and Melbourne to attend - the time and effort is greatly appreciated. It was fantastic to see catch up with past and current students alike and to share some of the history of our school - Phil Shihan
