Doors open and close all the time. When we moved I wasn’t sure whether I was going to get back into coaching/training again. An opportunity came up, so I went with it, thanks to and their fabulous and welcoming community. Last week they closed their doors after nearly 12 years to move onto a new chapter, a hard decision that I can relate to. What door is going to open up next? I’m not sure, but I’ll keep moving to make the most of that opportunity.

Redefine your success.
I thought I was pretty good, I have a high expectation of my competitiveness.
But this day, I got smoked.
Those other guys were just too good.
Did I go in underdone? Yeah, probably.
Did I go in at less than my best? Maybe, I’d had the flu for a week, and probably running at about 75%.
Did I phone in a 75% effort? It didn’t feel like it at the time 🤢and it certainly doesn’t now even 3 days later😩.
If I allow myself to compare the results and assess the loss as unsuccessful outcome, then I’ve lost more than just the little fitness contest.
You see, under the circumstances, I am happy with the effort.
I could’ve not shown up.
I could’ve phoned it in.
I could’ve pulled the pin mid comp, or mid workout.
And sometimes that’s more important than the outcome.
