Whether your last event was Melbourne, Currency Creek or Friends of Woady by now we are sure you're thinking about the next event and counting down the days till things fire up again.

The good news is you aren't going to have to wait too long and now is the time to plan the rest of your year, when you are bringing your horses back in after their breaks, where you're heading for your first competition...and of course we are going to tell you that should be Mount Gambier!

If you're wanting a great event to start the second half of your season come to Mount Gambier then head onto Friends Of Werribee Park Horse Trials 2026 and then Spring Horse Trials. This may not be what's in your diary and you may have other events planned, and that's fine too...but everything should start here with the 2026 Community Bank Mount Gambier & District Mount Gambier Horse Trials!

We are running from EvA65 up to CCN3.5*, so there's a class for everyone and club classes offered for the 66 & 80 too. With cross country courses designed and built by the talented team of Mick Pineo & Stanley Cross Country and new jumps being installed again this year, we can guarantee the trip will be worth it. The sandy loam of the venue provides a brilliant surface for all three phases and the party vibes start Saturday afternoon with Sinkhole Gin and showjumping.

You might be feeling that the days are short, the nights a bit chilly and enthusiasm for riding may be waning a little.

Well, don't despair we have something for you to get excited about...
On Saturday July 11th we are holding a Winter Training Day and Sunday July 12th is our turn to host a round of the Green Triangle Winter Series Show Jumping.

The options Saturday are:
❄️ Dressage Protocol Sessions with Nic Lewis. Choose your test, ride it and receive constructive feedback and areas of improvement.

❄️ Show Jumping Lessons with Jamie Murray. These group lessons will run for 60 minutes and are a great chance to work on your jumping skills before the winter series the next day.

❄️ Cross Country Open Day. 50cm to 1* jumps will be flagged and the course will be open all day. Rider's must school either in a group or with an observer on the ground, NO RIDER is to SCHOOL ALONE. Body protectors must be worn. For those planning to enter the 2026 Mount Gambier Horse Trials this is the last opportunity to train before the course is closed.

All level of riders are catered for on the Winter Training Day: from prep tests and poles on the ground right up to 1m+ and high level tests.

Choose one, two or three disciplines and come for a great day!

Entries for the Winter Training Day will be via www.nominate.com.au from Monday 22nd June.

On Sunday the top arena will be buzzing with activity as all of the painted poles and fancy show jumping equipment are pulled out for Round 7 of the Green Triangle Winter Series Show Jumping. Entry is via Equipe and you can find that link and more details on the Mount Gambier Show Jumping page.

It's never an easy decision to postpone an event, Naracoorte Horse Trials without doubt this came after much deliberation.

We wish you all the best with your fundraising event.

NARACOORTE HORSE TRIALS 2026 FORMAT CHANGE:

Due to the current economic fuel crisis, significant increases in competitor fees and charges and the ongoing effect on the equestrian industry, the Naracoorte Horse Trials Committee have made the decision to run a Fundraising Event on the Naracoorte Horse Trials Event Weekend in a location to be confirmed.
More details regarding this event will be available soon.

The Naracoorte Horse Trials official event will be postponed and the committee will be working to run this event at Naracoorte later in the year.
