In case you missed it, our young superstars beat Alexandra & Eastern Hills on Sunday to win the Fuller shield π
Here's a write up from team coach Gianni Petrucci who we wish to thank for this time and efforts with the boys.
The GSCA boys fought out a hard and close win against Alexandra and Eastern Hills, winning the final on the last ball of the match.
Across the 3 games the boys ALL contributed in what was a 13 man performance to take out the shield.
Strong batting performances from Co-captains Max Petrucci and Tyson Averats as well as Jay Hamblin gave us a great base in all 3 games with Max playing an incredible knock in the final.
The final saw two unsung heroes stand up with the bat with Deegan Briggs and Abel Leask steering the team home.
But it was our bowling and fielding across the 3 games that made us stand out against the opposition. Disciplined line and length bowling backed up by incredible fielding never seen before from this age group. The bowling attack was well led by Jett Mason, Harry Wade and Hugh McIntosh but truth be told ALL bowlers performed well. The bowling of Jett Mason and the ultimate team man Harry Waller in the final changed the game.
As coach I am incredibly proud of all of the boys and I cannot wait to see them continue their cricketing journeys.
Regards Gianni
