A heartbreaking finish for our Under 17s, going down to Kalangadoo 56-46 in todayโ€™s Grand Final.

Not the result our girls were hoping for, but what an incredible season theyโ€™ve had. To make it all the way to the big dance is something to be so proud of, and they fought right until the final whistle.

Hold your heads high girls - youโ€™ve done yourselves, your families and the Mount Burr community proud!

Our Under 17s are Grand Final bound this weekend. Meet the girls ready to represent the Burr on the big stage!

Ashlee Dean โ€“ GS/GA/GD
Moves well in the circle and shoots with accuracy. Strong rebounding and defensive pressure both ends of the court. Leader on court.

Sophie Smith โ€“ GA/GS/C
Uses space to gain possession close to the post and is an accurate shot. Strong under the post to gain rebounds. Strong drives through the mid court.

Isabel O'Brien โ€“ WA/WD/C
Player who drives strongly to circle edge, feeding goalies well.

Gemma Salotti โ€“ WD
Works hard defensively. Good hands over pressure and drive out of the defence line.

Jeda Hibberd โ€“ GK/GD
Tight defensive player who uses athleticism to take interceptions and drives the ball down court.

Courtney Sigston โ€“ C/WA
Drives to space, delivers ball with precision to goalies. Great defensive pressure all over the court

Becky Davis โ€“ GK/GD/C/WD
Defensive player who gets hands to balls and makes turnover opportunities for the team. Drives strongly through the mid court.

Holly Lowndes โ€“ GK/GS
Strong player who uses height and positioning to her advantage both ends of the court. Has desire for the ball.

Stella Davis โ€“ GS/GA/WA/C
Uses speed to make space and drive the ball into the attack line. Moving goalie who makes the most of opportunities.

Emily Lowndes
Versatile player with exceptional elevation and desire for the ball.
