Stirling Experience, under the directorship of Barb and Craig Jones, has been operating the Mt.Stirling Cross Country Ski and Outdoor Recreation Centre within the Mt.Stirling Alpine Resort since 1986. During the winter season Stirling Experience offer a full range of Cross Country touring, skating and telemark equipment for hire and sale and provide ski lessons together with day and overnight snow
camping tours through the Mt.Stirling professional ski school. Throughout the summer season the company offers an outdoor adventure program within the resort and into the adjacent Wonnongatta-Moroka section of the Alpine National Park. The staff are experienced outdoor professionals, with specific skills in bush walking, mountain biking, climbing, abseiling and group leadership. A full range of single and multiple day programs are available to suit education groups, corporate training and personal achievement goals. Stirling Experience offers the largest range of specialised cross country ski equipment for hire in the region, available on the mountain at the Nordic centre adjacent to the car park at Telephone Box Junction. Class and private lessons are available daily and are surprisingly affordable and wonderfully enjoyable. Stirling Experience also offer guided snowshoe walks with snow shoes available for hire. Families, enjoy the absence of crowds, the relaxed atmosphere within easy walking distance of the snow play and toboggan area. Having the warm and cosy mountain bistro close by for the mandatory hot chocolate with marshmallow is also a bonus. For the more adventurous the Resort offers an Alpine Camp where guests can sit, cook dinner and chat around the warm pot-belly stove in the large community Tepee then retire for the night into floored and insulated camp facilities. Free car parking is available at Mirimbah. The mountain bus service departs at 9.30am each morning and returns at 4.30pm. A separate taxi is available.
