Mid August and still no skiable snow at Mount Buffalo - and the little bit of snow that we have had on occasion tends to be walked on - Try to keep to the side where ever possible to avoid damage to the ski section of XC Ski Trails

On a humourous note - is this the future of skiing in warming climate

Worst snow season in decades so far with insufficient snow even for snow play at the moment - We would need a storm with 20 to 30 cm of snowfall to open cross country trails but one never knows what late July / August might bring. These snow camera photos of Dingo Dell and Cresta are from 20 July

Unfortunately while we had some snowfall Friday and Saturday it was not much and rained Sunday overnight so cross country trails are not skiable yet - sorry - Perhaps the fronts later in July will really dump (fingers crossed)

Drove up to Buffalo today to check out the Dingo Dell snow camera it is working ok - and Will McRae had also sorted out the main Cresta camera, it is now working again - hopefully the cams will be looking at fresh snow tomorrow morning

Still sightseeing snow at Mount Buffalo - no toboggan runs or Cross Country Ski trails open as yet this season. There are some cold fronts moving through from Saturday Afternoon so some snowfalls are possible this weekend- We have checked out the Hotham Dinner Plain and Falls Creek cross country the last few days and these areas have skiable snow so worth a visit in the interim. This was Falls Creek yesterday.

We are unlikely to be able to run ski tours and snow activities at Mount Buffalo until later in July - we need at least 20 to 30 cm to get a decent cover on the trails and plains - Video of Cresta Valley Sunday 5th July

Good sightseeing snow but not enough to cross country ski as yet - perhaps the next storm system
