No snow as yet (but early days) - Some possible light snowfalls in the coming weeks - fingers crossed. Buffalo often does not have viable snowfalls until early July.

Quite a good cover at Falls Creek Nordic Bowl on Sunday 7th June, then around the lake below the resort towards pretty valley

Had a ski at Christmas Hills Hotham today - surprisingly good snow cover even icy in places

A dusting of snow this week, nothing skiable yet - regretfully there is no snow in the forecast for the next week, just rain - fingers x for a big dump mid June

The old ski run slopes at Cresta Valley are excellent for hike up and ski down days - earning your turns is fun (video from previous season)

Cross Country skiing at Mount Buffalo is great fun and you will often have the slopes all to yourself

Things are looking quite interesting long range. Below is from today's Long Range Forecast:

Long range is quite interesting with a few scenarios possible. A weak change on the 30th could see some light snow at times across the 30th-1st. Temps are likely to be marginal, so unless we see a shift it will only be light snow.

Following this, it looks like we might see things clear with a few cool days and very cold nights for snowmaking. The strong dominant high pressure systems look like stalling the next system, which I think could be a good thing as it may gain strength. Currently, it's looking like it will arrive on the 5th with possibly some decent snow falling over 2-3 days. It is looking be quite cold so some low level snow if possible. This would be the opening weekend, so maybe a repeat of last year?

It's still a fair way away, and things could swing either way, but at least there is a chance we could see something significant for opening weekend.

Looks like a later start to the snow season than last year but will arrive when its ready no doubt - This video is of a heavy early snowfall in June 2025 on the Horn Road
