South Australian Short Course Championships 2026

The winter season is building towards its biggest event, with the South Australian Short Course Championships taking place over three days of exciting racing.

For swimmers who have achieved the qualifying standards, this is an opportunity to represent Mount Barker Swimming Club, compete against the state's best, celebrate the hard work of the season, and finish their short course campaign on a high.

If you've achieved a qualifying time, now is the time to get your entries in!

Entries close: 12:00pm, 10 August 2026

Today, four of our Mount Barker Swimming Club swimmers took to the pool at the Winter All In Meet at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, representing the club across two competitive sessions.

Session 1 saw Marley, Lachlan and Anika each contest four events, while Session 2 featured Elizabeth with two swims, alongside Lachlan and Anika with three races.

It was a busy day of racing, with our swimmers stepping up to challenge themselves against strong competition and continue building towards their season goals.

• Anika – 7 swims, achieving a PB
• Elizabeth – 2 swims
• Lachlan – 7 swims, achieving 5 PB’s
• Marley – 4 swims, achieving a PB which is also a State SC QT!!

Congratulations to all four swimmers on their efforts in the pool today

Where else do you spend a Friday night???

At a swim meet of course!!

We had 2 swimmers head down to the Adelaide Aquatic Centre this evening for the second Norwood SC Sprint Series meet, achieving some fantastic results….
• Hayden – 5 swims, achieving 3 PB’s with one being over 7 seconds!
• Nathan – 5 swims, achieving 1 PB and strong swims in the other events

What a great night of swimming!!!

Mount Barker Swimming Club is incredibly proud to congratulate two of our swimmers on their selection in the 2026 School Sport SA State Swimming Teams.

🏊‍♀️ Kayla has been selected in the 13–19 Years State Swimming Team and will represent South Australia at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Albert Park, Victoria, from Saturday 25 July to Thursday 30 July 2026.

🏊‍♂️ Lachlan has been selected in the 12 & Under State Swimming Team and will represent South Australia at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Albert Park, Victoria, from Sunday 29 November to Thursday 3 December 2026.

Selection in a School Sport SA State Team is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication, commitment and hard work these athletes have shown throughout the season. To have two swimmers from our club selected to represent South Australia on the national stage is something we are extremely proud of.

Congratulations Kayla and Lachlan on this outstanding achievement. We wish you both every success as you prepare to wear the South Australian colours and compete against the best school-aged swimmers from across the country.

Your Mount Barker Swimming Club family is incredibly proud of you both and will be cheering you on every step of the way.
