B2 Pennants
The B2 side hosted South Lakes in the final round of the season, knowing a strong win and a few favourable results elsewhere were needed to secure a finals berth.

The team delivered exactly what was required, producing an outstanding performance to record a dominant 6–1 victory. Wins to Jamie, Paul, Clay, Nathan and Con set the tone, while Will and Sam both battled hard to secure valuable halves, ensuring Aston Hills did not lose a single match on the day.

Unfortunately, despite the impressive result, the side fell agonizinly short of a finals position, missing out by just half a point.

It was a fantastic way to finish the season, with the course presented in superb condition and the team undoubtedly saving some of its best golf for last.

C2 Pennants
The C2 side took on near neighbours Nairne at home on Sunday in the final round of the season and made the most of home course advantage, securing a convincing 4.5 - 2.5 victory.

While playing at Aston Hills, many of the Nairne players know the course well after spending a number of years as summer members. Despite heavy rain the day before, the course held up beautifully. A special thanks goes to Simon Prosser for going the extra mile and cutting the greens before play, something not seen at every course.

Stephen “Irish” McCreight capped off an outstanding season with a commanding 6/4 victory over Tim Stroud in the number one match. Jim Day and John Ridenour both recorded solid 2&1 wins, while Sandy Morrison finished 1 up.

The crucial half point came from Rob McInnes, who produced a remarkable comeback after finding himself 4 down early in the match. According to his back-nine caddie, James McInnes, it was a tremendous fightback.

It was a fitting way to finish the season after a number of frustratingly close results throughout the year, and a well-deserved reward for the team’s persistence and effort.

B2 Pennants
The B2 side faced Victor Harbor at Oakbank Golf Course on Sunday and produced an outstanding 4.5 to 2.5 victory against a strong opposition team.

On a beautiful morning with the course presented in excellent condition, the team delivered a consistent performance across the board, only dropping one match for the day.

Strong wins were recorded by Jamie, Dale and Nathan, while Clay, Will and Sam each secured valuable halves.

The win keeps the B2 side firmly in the finals race, with next week’s home match shaping as a crucial fixture in the push for a finals berth.

C2 Pennants
Another tough day for the C2 side, who travelled to Murray Bridge to take on the unbeaten Oakbank team. Despite a determined effort from Aston Hills, Oakbank maintained their perfect record with a 5.5 to 1.5 victory.

Congratulations to Rob McInnes, who secured the team’s sole win with a hard-fought 1 up victory on the 18th hole. Stephen McCreight, Sandy Morrison and John Ridenour also took their matches right to the final hole. Stephen earned a valuable half, while both Sandy and John narrowly missed out after strong performances.

While the result didn’t go their way, the team showed plenty of determination throughout the day. They now turn their attention to next week’s clash against neighbours Nairne at Aston Hills, where they’ll be looking to finish the season on a high note.

C2 Results
Tough outing for the C2 team heading to Echunga Golf Club to take on the home side.

Despite travelling with confidence, we went down again. John Ridenour battled hard to the end to secure a strong 1 up win, and Lackie Rowell also went all the way to the 18th, finishing with a well earned half. Nathan went down on the 17th, while Sandy and Simon both fought it out to the 16th in close matches. The course and greens were in great condition, with the home side making full use of their local knowledge.

C2 now looks ahead to a big challenge against the unbeaten Oakbank side at Murray Bridge Golf Club.

B2 Results
Tough loss for the B2 side going down 5/2 to Murray Bridge. A highlight was a strong comeback win from Jamie, who was promoted to the number 1 position and got the job done on the last hole.

We look to bounce back next week against Oakbank at Oakbank Golf Club.

Our chefs have put together a menu full of proper winter comfort food! Big flavours, hearty meals and a few new dishes in there (plus some great vego options!) we reckon are going to be favourites pretty quickly.

Our clubhouse is a perfect spot for a feed after golf, a couple drinks with mates or just an excuse to get out and enjoy a good meal by the fire 🔥

B2 Aston Hills bounced back with a strong victory over last year’s finalists, Nairne, recording a convincing 4.5 - 2.5 win.

In tough, rainy conditions, the team played some excellent golf, highlighted by huge wins to Will and Nathan, who finished after 12 holes at 8/6 and 7/6 respectively. Dale and Don also secured important wins, while Jamie battled hard for a gutsy halve. The team now looks to continue its winning form with a trip to Murray Bridge to take on the home side on their own deck.

The C2 team faced Strathalbyn at Nairne on Sunday, with three regular team members unavailable. Trevor Johns kindly stepped in at late notice and secured what turned out to be a valuable half, while Lackie Rowell also finished square. With several matches down, things were looking grim for the team, however a late fightback from Jim Day, who recorded the narrowest of 1 up wins, along with Nathan Rowell’s strong 3 & 1 victory, reduced the final margin to a 4 - 3 loss in favour of Strathalbyn.

Next week the team takes on Echunga at Echunga in what will be another tough match, but hopefully a win is coming their way.
