Our Community Bowls concluded on Friday 28th with another great six weeks of Community get together with fun & laughter. Results of the six weeks are:
Week 1. 1st Chalkie Champs (School) - 2nd 2 Balls Short (Shire) & next weeks winners were Men;s Shed.
Week 2. 1st Kendenup Old Boys - 2nd Men's Shed & nww were Grass Cutters.
Week 3. 1st Diggers (RSL) - 2nd Wheelers & Dealers & nww were Fire Bugs.
Week 4. 1st Wheelers & Dealers - 2nd 2 Bals Short & nww were Diggers.
Week 5. 1st 2 Balls Short - 2nd Bunkards & nww were Grass Cutters.
Week 6. 1st 2 Balls Short - Men's Shed & nww were Bunkards.
Overall Winners.
1st 2 Balls Short - 16.5 Pts & 100 shots up.
2nd Chalkie Champs - 12 Pts & 33 shots up.
NYW Fire Bugs.
A Community Batten Spin is spun every year to raise some money for one of our Community Services Volunteer groups and this years recipiants were Mt Barker Fire Brigade.

Tonight's Chase the Jack has Jackpotted to $80.00 between 5.00 - 6.00pm.
Community Bowls start next Friday 13th February and run for the next six weeks so Chase the Jack will not be on untill after this is finished, it will start again on 27th March.
The Community Bowls Event is Sponsored by West Cape Howe Wines and Lyn Heppell from Prestige Real estate Albany. We take this oportunity to thank them for their support and we are privilaged to have them on board. We will keep you posted with the results each week. 😀

Were back in action!
Our Christmas Raffle. was drawn on the 21st of December at our Patrons & Life Members Day. The Winner: Grey Ticket No R79 - Martin Bond. 2nd prize. Meat Pack: Orange Ticket No M49 - Terry Mahar. 3rd prize. Chocolates: Grey Ticket R85 – G Cross. 4th Prize Chocolates: Orange Ticket No M78 – Roy. It was great to have the pleasure of Doreen Crofts and Val Loxton at the Club for afternoon Tea and the drawing of the Christmas Raffle.

Club Bowls. Championship Singles played on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th January had a field of 17 Bowlers and after two days of some good quality bowling the last four still left in the main game was Mal Spencer, Andrew Gibbons, Gordon Hill and Colin Toone. Mal Spencer had a good hard fought win over Colin Toone and likewise with Andrew Gibbons having a win against Gordon Hill. The Final was a very interesting and enjoyable game for the gallery of spectators to see Mal just edge out Andrew in a very high standard of Lawn Bowling, well done guys. The Plate was between John Toone and Shane Nunan and won by John Toone. Championship Pairs will finish on the 8th of February.

On Friday Night 16th January we launched our very own “CHASE THE JACK” this is between 5.00pm to 6.00pm the Jackpot started at $50 and will Jackpot by $10 every week. The POT is $70 for Friday 30th Jan. A Sausage Sizzle will be available for purchase from 6.00pm. Happy Hour is from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

Table Tennis is played at the Club every Wednesday morning 9.30am to 11.30 am, if you or any family members would like a game, we are always looking for more Players.

Championship Singles Results: Mal Spencer played Colin Toone, after a very hard fought game and with some very good Bowls being played Colin won 21/15. John Toone played Gordon Hill, with John winning 21/9. in the Plate Jim Morris played Andrew Gibbons, with Andrew winning 21/9. and Bob Beecroft forfeited to Rick Fleckner. The final produced some very good draw bowling from both finalists and John Toone prevailed to win 21/18 to become the Club Champion Singles player for 2024/25. The Plate also was a very close contest with Andrew Gibbons playing Rock Fleckner and winning 21/17.
Congratulations to all Players involved.

The Finals of our Singles are on Sunday 23rd Feb. In the Main event Mal Spencer plays Colin Toone and John Toone plays Gordon Hill. The two winners will then play off for the Club's Singles Champion.
The Plate finalists are Andrew Gibbons playing Jim Morris and Bob Beecroft playing Rick Fleckner.

Our Championship Pairs were played on the 18th & 19th of January with a very good field of ten teams which proved to be quite evenly balanced. The Winners were Colin Toone & Vince Ellen with 12 Pts plus 35 shots up and then there were five Teams that finished with 9 pts. Fred Lally & Tony Kelly came second with 9 Pts plus 23 shots up Terry Mahar & Rick Fleckner came third with 9 Pts plus 10 shots up. Teams finishing on 9 Pts that just missed out were Mal Spencer & Martin Bond on 9 pts plus 8 shots up. Bruce Parsons & Bob Beecroft with 9 Pts plus 7 shots up. John Toone & Paul McCarthy with 9 Pts plus 2 shots up.

Club Meals. Meals are now available every Saturday Night. Kristels Country Catering from 5.30pm

Ellen/Ridgway Men’s Triples: We had ten Teams competing in this Event from Denmark – Albany – Mid Beach – Golf Club along with our own Bowlers. A very enjoyable day was had by everyone with the eventual Winners being. Ossie Osbourne, Noel Skinner & Phil Ramsden from Mid Beach. Second was Barry Roughly, Alan Davis & Ashley Cooper from Denmark. Third was a composite side of Bob Beecroft from Mt Barker, Dave Bojcun from Golf Club & Barry McHardy from Albany.

Executive and Committee take this opportunity to wish everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year.
Bowls:
Pennant Results: 16th November 3rd Division won their game against Green Range 5/1 only to have them taken from them by an unfortunate default. and 2nd Division lost to Emu Point White 1/5. 23rd of November 3rd Division travelled to Mid Beach and found the conditions pretty tough and lost 0/6. 2nd Division played Albany Brown away and once again had a very close contest going down 2/4 by three shots on the overall. 30th November both Teams played at home. 3rd Division played Walpole and won two games but unfortunately lost the overall to go down 2/4. 2nd Division played Cranbrook and had a good 6/0 win. 7th December 3rd Division played Frankland at Home and lost 0/6. 2nd Division played Albany Grey away and had a good 6/0 win. 14th December 3rd Division played Emu Point Blue away and had a very good 5/1 win. 2nd Division played Albany Green away and unfortunately lost 1/5.
Championship Triples: Were played on the 17th of November with four Teams playing a round robin format. The eventual winners were John Toone (Skip), Bob Beecroft & Paul McCarthy with 6 Points plus 15 shots up. Runner up was Fred Lally (Skip), Ron Greeney & Andrew Gibbons with 6 Points plus 11 shots up.
Patrons & Life Members Day played on Sunday 1st December saw a field of 11 bowlers participate and show their support and appreciation of the Clubs Patrons and Life Members. the winners were. John Toone, Shirley Pearce & Tony Kelly. Second was Vince Ellen & Gordon Hill.
The Club will be closed from Saturday 21st December and open again at 4.30pm on Friday 3rd January 2025.
Kristel Country Catering will be back in the New Year Starting with Sunday Lunch on the 5th of January from 12.00 noon. Saturday Night Dinner Starting on the 11th of January from 5.30pm.
