The RF Higgs Trophy: Playing Club Member of the Year.

This award is presented to the player judged by the committee to be the most outstanding member of Mosman Cricket Club, recognising not only performances on the field, but contribution as a teammate, at training, on game day and as a representative of the club.

After returning from the UK injured, Miles O’Grady’s enthusiasm for the club never wavered. Although he did not play his first game until Round 13, he threw himself into every opportunity to help, whether that was at training, on game day, around the club, or at Woolworths Cricket Blast on a Saturday morning.

When he finally got back on the field, he made an immediate impact on his teammates and embodied everything this award stands for.

Congratulations to our 2025/26 RF Higgs Trophy winner and Playing Club Member of the Year, Miles O’Grady.

Congratulations Simon Paine, Mosman Cricket Club Life Member number 55.

Simon’s journey with the club began back in 2006, when he arrived at the Junior Club and started coaching his son’s U9 side. From there, his contribution only grew. He continued coaching for several seasons, joined the Junior Committee, and later stepped up as Junior President, a role he held with great care and commitment for 5 years.

During that time, Simon became a mentor to many around the club, helping set the standard for what service, leadership and quiet dedication should look like.

Around 2012, Simon joined the Senior Committee and has since filled a number of important roles, including Secretary and Chairman of Selectors. These days, he can be found travelling across Sydney on weekends, supporting our grades with lunches, afternoon teas, and everything else that keeps a cricket club running.

Whether it is the lollies at training, the regular run-ins with Fergus, or his unmatched work as the best net captain in Sydney Grade Cricket, Simon has become a much-loved figure across Mosman.

A thoroughly deserved honour for someone who has given so much to the Whales.

Congratulations Simon Paine. A true clubman and now our 55th Life Member.

A huge congratulations to our 2025/26 major trophy winners.

The Dave Colley Trophy, awarded to the leading wicket taker across all SCA competitions, goes to Elijah Eales after a brilliant season with the ball, claiming 43 wickets at 18.12 with best figures of 7/34.

The Stan McCabe Trophy, awarded to the leading run scorer across all SCA competitions, goes to Joe Colgan after an outstanding campaign with the bat. Joe finished with 1,043 runs at 57.94, including two centuries, ten half centuries and a highest score of 127, highlighted by an incredible run of nine consecutive scores of 50 or more.

The RF Higgs Trophy, our Playing Club Member of the Year, goes to Miles O’Grady. This award recognises a player’s contribution across the whole club, from performance and training standards to game day support and the way they represent Mosman Cricket Club.

Miles returned from the UK injured, but never let that stop his involvement. Whether it was helping at training, on game day, with Woolies Blast on a Saturday morning, or simply being around the club, he threw himself into every opportunity to contribute. He did not play his first game until Round 13, but still made an immediate impact on his teammates and earned enormous respect across the playing group.

Three outstanding winners and three brilliant contributors to Mosman Cricket Club.

Congratulations Elijah, Joe and Miles.

The Bernie Smith Award honours our former President, Bernie Smith, who sadly passed away a few years ago.

Bernie gave so much to Mosman Cricket Club across many years and in many roles, including scorer, committee member, Secretary, Chairman of Selectors, Treasurer and finally President for five years.

This award recognises a non-player who reflects that same dedication, service and commitment to MCC.

This year’s winner has been part of the club for several years and has consistently helped behind the scenes, often without recognition. He has served on our committee for a number of years and is always willing to put his hand up to help.

From running our sponsorship proposals, which are hugely important to the club, to driving the Toyota Good for Cricket Raffle, which has raised well over $100,000 since its inception, his contribution has been immense.

Whether it is post-training barbecues, game day duties or club functions, he is always there helping out and doing the little things that keep the club moving.

It gives us great pleasure to announce Paul Frost as this year’s Bernie Smith Award winner.

Congratulations, Paul, and thank you for everything you continue to do for Mosman Cricket Club.

Record breakers.

A huge congratulations to our 2025/26 record breakers, with two new club marks set across another memorable season for the Whales.

In 2nd Grade, Will Allen and Angus Tesoriero set a new opening wicket partnership record with a brilliant stand of 214 against Fairfield. Will made 110, while Angus finished unbeaten on 117no, combining for a superb display of patience, class and dominance at the top of the order.

In Green Shield, Jagbir Singh Malhi produced a remarkable innings of 160 against Randwick Petersham, coming off just 105 balls with fifteen 4s and five 6s. In doing so, Jagbir broke an 85-year-old record, surpassing Richard Lowing’s 158 set way back in 1940/41.

Congratulations to Will, Angus and Jagbir on writing their names into the Mosman record books.

Wrapping up the next set of award winners from our 25/26 season!

These awards recognise three important areas of club cricket: the development of young talent, the impact of a standout debut season, and the specialist craft of wicket keeping. Congratulations to Angus Tesoriero, James Barwise and Ryan Hicks on outstanding summers.

Cam Guthrie Award – Angus Tesoriero

The Cam Guthrie Award recognises the club’s leading U/21 young player and celebrates the next generation of Mosman talent making their mark in grade cricket.

This year’s winner, Angus Tesoriero, produced a superb season with the bat, scoring 837 runs at an average of 44.26, including 1 century and 6 half centuries. It was a season built on consistency, maturity and repeated contributions across the summer.

Warwick Adlam Shield – James Barwise

The Warwick Adlam Shield is awarded to the club’s best debutant, recognising a player who has made an immediate impact in their first season with Mosman.

James Barwise was a deserving winner after an excellent all-round campaign, taking 28 wickets at 20.29 while also scoring 311 runs, including a high score of 114. To contribute meaningfully with both bat and ball in a debut season is a fantastic achievement and a great reflection of the value James brought to the group.

Doug Ford Wicket Keeping Award – Ryan Hicks

The Doug Ford Wicket Keeping Award recognises excellence in one of the game’s most demanding and specialised roles.

Ryan Hicks delivered a terrific season behind the stumps, finishing with 27 dismissals, while also making a major contribution with the bat, scoring 516 runs. A brilliant all-round wicket keeping season and a thoroughly deserved award.

Congratulations to Angus, James and Ryan on fantastic 2025/26 campaigns 🐳🐳

In season 2025/26 there was a lot of remarkable moments, but there is nothing we love celebrating more than a local boy and home grown talent doing special things for the club.

Congratulations to Joe Colgan on taking out the prestigious Bill O’Reilly Medal, capping off a truly remarkable season.

The award is voted on by the umpires after each game, with a maximum of six points available. Joe finished on 36 points, seven clear of second place.

This marks the sixth time a Mosman player has won the award, and the first since Trent Johnston in 2003/04.

A massive congratulations to Joe on an outstanding achievement and a season to remember. 🐳🐳
