A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make today’s Geoff Peterson Memorial Swim Meet such a fantastic success!

To all the swimmers, thank you for your enthusiasm, determination and great sportsmanship throughout the day. It was wonderful to see so many personal bests, encouraging teammates and giving every race your best.

A sincere thank you to our visiting clubs, coaches and families for your support and for making the trip to Morwell.

To our incredible volunteers, officials, timekeepers, marshals, raffle and lucky lollipop helpers, setup and pack-up crews, and everyone who worked behind the scenes – thank you. Your generosity with your time and effort is what makes meets like this possible, and we are so grateful for everything you do.

🏊‍♀️ One Week to Go – Geoff Peterson Memorial Sprint Meet! 🏊‍♂️

Morwell Swimming Club is looking forward to welcoming everyone to our annual Geoff Peterson Memorial Sprint Meet on Sunday 2nd August 2026 at Latrobe Leisure Morwell.

🕘 Warm-up: 9:00am
🏁 Racing begins: 10:00am

At this stage, we have just 9 swimmers entered, so we’d really appreciate your help in spreading the word. Please encourage your club members to get their entries in before 8:00pm this Thursday, 30th July.

⭐ New! 200m Time Trials
We’ve had requests to include two 200m time trials, and we’re planning to run them:

* Before the first event of the day
* Before the first event after the lunch break

Swimmers may choose any stroke.

If you have swimmers interested in competing in a time trial, please let us know before next weekend. Time trial entries are $10 per event, with payment able to be made on the day.

🤝 Club Pairs Events
Don’t forget our fun Club Pairs Events! Entries for these will be taken on the day, with clubs invoiced after the meet. Check out the flyer for the available pairs events.

* Age Group Champion medallions for each age group.
* Ribbons awarded all the way through to 8th place in every individual event.

🏊‍♂️ Annual Presentation Lunch & AGM 🏊‍♀️

Last weekend, we came together at the wonderful Morwell Bowling Club to celebrate another fantastic season at our Annual Presentation Lunch and AGM.

These awards recognise the dedication, hard work, perseverance and sportsmanship shown throughout the season, and we are incredibly proud of all our swimmers.

A special thank you to Marika Gacs from the Morwell Bowling Club Board for attending and assisting with our presentations. Your support of our club is greatly appreciated.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Morwell Bowling Club for their ongoing sponsorship and support of our club over many years. Community partnerships like this play a vital role in helping local sporting clubs thrive, and we are incredibly grateful for the generosity and encouragement the Bowling Club has shown us. Thank you for continuing to support our swimmers and our club community.

During the AGM, we also acknowledged a significant change within our committee. We said farewell to our Treasurer, Paul, and welcomed Fiona into the role.

Paul, thank you for your years of hard work, dedication and commitment to our club. Your contribution behind the scenes has helped keep our club running smoothly, and we will certainly miss both you and Pearl around the pool. We wish you both all the very best and hope you’ll still drop by to say hello from time to time.

Congratulations, Fiona, on taking on the Treasurer position. We look forward to working with you as we begin another exciting season.

Thank you to all of our swimmers, families, coaches, volunteers and committee members for making this season such a success. We can’t wait to see what the new season brings.
