It is with great sadness that the Morwell Cricket Club acknowledges the passing of Pamela Den-Besten on the 20th of May 2026.

Pam was a much-loved member of our club family and a passionate supporter of her children and grandchildren. As the mother of Maryke, grandmother of Dylan, Lachlan, Noah, Jett and Hudson, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on and support their involvement at the club.
Pam was also instrumental in providing our Thursday night meals, helping bring players, families and supporters together each week. Her warmth, generosity and willingness to help made a lasting impact on so many within our club.
Pam was a special person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

On behalf of everyone at the Morwell Cricket Club, we extend our deepest condolences to Maryke, and the Day/Den-Besten families during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Pam.

Notification of the Morwell Cricket Club Annual General Meeting and Special General Meeting.

The Morwell Cricket Club will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Friday the 10th of July 2026. The AGM will commence at 6.30pm at Keegan Street.

All members are welcome to attend.

All executive and general committee positions are vacant.

If you would like to nominate for a role, you will require a proposer and a seconder. Please contact Lachlan Day of your intentions to nominate.

The AGM will be followed by a Special General Meeting. The purpose for this meeting is to consider and vote on a proposed change to the Club Rules relating to financial year.

That, for the purposes of section 64 of the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic) and Rule 77 (“Alteration of Rules”) of the Model Rules, the Association’s rules be amended to change the Association’s financial year end from 30 June to 30 April, by replacing Rule 3 (“Financial year”) with the following:
“3 Financial year - The financial year of the Association is the 12‑month period beginning on 1 May and ending on 30 April.”

Transitional provision�For the transition to the new financial year, the period commencing on 1 July 2025 and ending on 30 April 2026 will constitute a shortened financial year. This transitional financial year is made under section 3(b) of the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic), which allows a financial year of up to 18 months as resolved by the Association. Subsequent financial years will run from 1 May to 30 April.

The proposed change is to better align the clubs seasons with our financial reporting.

As this proposal involves an amendment to our club Rules, the motion will be considered as a Special Resolution and voted on by eligible members present at the Special General Meeting.

Club rooms and bar will be open on completion of the AGM.

Last night we wrapped up the season with our presentation. A special mention to our major sponsor, the Morwell Bowling Club for hosting the evening and making it such a wonderful night — it was great to be back.
