Looking for a fun way to get active, reconnect with netball and meet some new people? Walking Netball is coming to SUNA! 💙💚🤍

Our weekly Walking Netball sessions are designed for anyone aged 12+ whether you’ve played netball before or you’re picking up a netball for the very first time!

✨ Perfect if you:
🏐 Used to play and want to get back on court
💪 Want to stay active and improve your fitness
🤕 Are returning from injury
🙌 Want to try netball for the first time
👋 Want to meet new people
😂 Love a bit of fun, laughter and friendly competition!

Walking Netball is a slower-paced version of netball, played in a relaxed, supportive and friendly environment. There’s no advantage to being super quick around the court, making it a great leveller and plenty of fun for everyone!

To our coaches, managers, families, supporters and volunteers, thank you for the incredible support you provide to our players and clubs throughout the season.

A special thank you to our umpires for taking the court tonight and playing such an important role in our competition. Grand Finals bring plenty of excitement and emotion, and we ask everyone to continue to show our umpires the respect they deserve.

Tonight is the night! The road to the 2026 Grand Finals has reached its biggest moment, with our School, 13 & Under and Inters teams taking the court to compete for the ultimate prize! 💙💚🤍🏐

After a fantastic season of competition and some incredible finals matches, our teams have earned their place in tonight's Grand Finals.

To all players taking the court today, this is your moment! 💪

Today we celebrate all the dads, stepdads, grandads, father figures, mentors and special people who play a fatherly role in the lives of our netball community.

SUNA is excited to welcome Michelle den Dekker OAM as a special guest coach for a specialist defence coaching clinic.

A former Australian Diamonds Captain, two-time World Champion and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Michelle brings an exceptional depth of experience as both a player and coach.

• Australian Diamonds Captain
• Two-Time World Champion – 1991 & 1995
• Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist
• Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM)
• Hall of Fame Inductee – Netball, SA Sport & Sport Australia
• 71 Tests as Australian Captain with a 92%-win rate

When: Sunday 18th October 2026
Time: 9:00am – 11:00am (Registration: 8:45am)

What can coaches expect?

Coaches will first have the opportunity to observe a specialist player defence session led by Michelle, with support and guidance from Roz Fraser of Fraser Focus.

This will be followed by an exclusive coach discussion facilitated by Roz, where Michelle will share her insights into:

• Defensive techniques and strategies
• Developing effective defenders
• Coaching specialist defence
• Applying defensive skills in the game
• Questions and discussion with Michelle

Open to all coaches from Netball SA affiliated associations, this is a unique opportunity to learn from one of Australian netball’s most respected defenders and coaches.

After a fantastic season of competition, the excitement is building! For the teams competing tonight, a win means one thing… a place in the Grand Final! 🏆

💪 To all our young players taking the court tonight, enjoy every moment! Play your best, play fair, support your teammates and most importantly, have fun. You have worked hard all season to earn your place in the finals!

👏 A huge thank you to our coaches, managers, families, supporters and volunteers for the incredible support you provide to our young players throughout the season.

🚨 A reminder to all parents and supporters attending tonight:

Finals can bring plenty of excitement and emotion, but please remember that this is junior netball and the players are children.

We expect everyone to behave appropriately and create a positive environment for all players, umpires, coaches and volunteers.

📣 Cheer for your team – but never at the expense of others.

❌ No yelling at, questioning or abusing umpires.

❌ No negative comments directed towards players, coaches or spectators.

👏 Encourage all players and remember that your behaviour sets the example for the children watching and playing.
