A massive congratulations to Jason Peters, who conquered the wind off the bay on the 14th hole and produced a simply brilliant 8-iron that found its way straight into the cup!

It looked good all the way, but to discover it resting in the bottom of the hole was an incredible moment and a remarkable achievement.

The September Men’s Monthly Medal, proudly sponsored by Tar Barrel Brewery & Distillery, was contested on Saturday in some extremely challenging conditions.
Heavy rain and strong winds made scoring difficult throughout the day, with players having to battle the elements as much as the golf course.
In those conditions, Jay Miller’s winning score of nett 69 was an outstanding effort. Playing off a handicap of 16, Jay handled the wet and windy conditions superbly to finish one shot clear of the field and claim the September Monthly Medal.
Andrew Burgess also produced an excellent round in the tough conditions, playing off 14 and recording a nett 70 to finish runner-up on a countback.
Congratulations to Jay on a terrific victory and to everyone who battled their way around the course in what was certainly not an easy day for golf.

Congratulations to 11-year-old Lenny O’Donoghue, who has produced an outstanding performance to win the coveted Sir George Tallis Trophy with a three-round total of 110 Stableford points.
The Sir George Tallis Trophy is played over three consecutive Saturdays and provides a great test of consistency, with competitors playing three different formats – Par, Stableford and Stroke. At the completion of the event, each round is converted to Stableford points to determine the overall winner.
Playing off an excellent handicap of 14, Lenny showed remarkable consistency across all three rounds, recording the equivalent of 36, 37 and 37 Stableford points for an excellent total of 110 points.
He finished five points clear of Justin O’Carroll and Nick Webster, who both finished on 105 points.
The future of our young golfers at MGC is looking very bright!

Congratulations to Paul Johnson, who recorded his first-ever hole-in-one on the 14th hole today.
Playing in benign conditions, Paul struck the perfect shot and was delighted to see his ball find the bottom of the cup. Members also joined in the celebrations, enjoying a Tar Barrel Cheviot wh**ky courtesy of Paul.

Entries Now Open – 2027 Mornington Ladies Classic

Mornington Golf Club is delighted to invite you to be part of our 18th Annual Ladies Classic, to be held on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 January 2027.

This popular two-day event continues to attract a fantastic field each year, combining great golf, friendly competition and the renowned hospitality of Mornington Golf Club.

The tournament features:

36 holes of Stableford competition
A, B & C Grade divisions
18-hole and 36-hole trophies
8.00am sh***un start on both days
Two-course lunch included each day
Open to amateur golfers who are members of a registered golf club with a Golf Australia handicap (maximum daily handicap of 45).
Whether you’re returning for another Ladies Classic or joining us for the first time, you’ll enjoy two memorable days of golf on one of Victoria’s premier courses, with stunning views across Port Phillip Bay and a welcoming club atmosphere.

Entries close on Saturday 5 December 2026, or earlier if the field reaches capacity, so we encourage players to enter as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Congratulations to Brad Harris, who has claimed the coveted Tar Barrel Brewery & Distillery Monthly Medal with a sensational round of golf.
Brad was in outstanding form, recording an incredible seven birdies on his way to securing the prestigious Monthly Medal with 43pts. A round featuring that many birdies is always something special and a testament to the quality of golf Brad produced throughout the day.
