One thing I hear time and time again from clients is how hard they find it to get their protein in and most of the time they are way off their goal by the end of the day!!

The trick is to have a high protein breakfast to get things going!!!

And for women in perimenopause and beyond our protein synthesis is not as efficient as estrogen plays a role, so as our estrogen fluctuates and eventually drops so does protein synthesis and therefore we need to be making sure we are hitting our targets as well as strength training … and getting 50g per meal is an optimal way to do this!

And fibre is also super important and many people are simply not getting enough … we should be aiming for 25-45g per day (dependent on the individuals tolerance and requirements
and building up slowly)

Fitness Tips For Beginners!

#1 - start small stay consistent !
Consistency is key when training … no point going all out one week at a pace you can’t keep up so a few weeks later you are out of action!

#2 Focus on form. Getting your form down pat before adding more weight is essential to minimize injury and to get the most out of your workout by targeting the correct muscles effectively!

#3 Fuel your body! None of this training fasted nonsense. Carbs are not the enemy , when eaten before training they provide us fuel to push harder, when eaten paired with protein after training they feed our muscles for growth & repair .

#4 Rest is part of training!
Resting is when the magic happens! And if we don’t get adequate rest your next training session will suck!
The rest you require varies from person to person, learn to listen to your body and it will all fall into place!
