I have created in season systems for athletes through my knowledge in performance science & 20 years of real world coaching expertise that WORK 💯

Early in the week athletes focus is on heavy external loading (max effort - strength) & later in the week focus moves towards dynamic effort - speed/power

The focus is on overall CNS system stress & stimulus over mimicking sporting movements in the gym which not only wastes athletes time but also can lead to less efficient ex*****on of sporting skills (never load a sensitive motor pattern in the gym ❌ unless you are similar ilk of who is like me big on understanding motor control - motor learning for transfer to sporting performance … but you need to know both the “skill” & “capacity” development

It’s a full circle moment for me with .algeri, (similar to his teammate .plotkinn) who first trained with when he was 14 years old, now 22 years and playing high level football 💪

Excited to see where I can take .algeri physically leading to long term football performance both at the state & local level

Personally it’s great to see these young athletes come back to , where it started for them on their sporting journeys 💯

ACL rupture conservative management (aka come back to sport without surgery )

Welcome senior player & assistant coach to

Donk has been around along time & was captain at Karingal bulls for many years

He decided to play a few years with his best mate @ to finish his career

Unfortunately 2 weeks ago he ruptured his ACL in a tackle against and he thought that was his season done ❌

I assessed him to see if I thought he could be a potential for non surgical ACL reconditioning & told him the potential risks etc

6-8 weeks is the time frame we have set (obviously must hit my criteria so he is best prepared to perform) & donk will complete 3 x lower body strength, power & speed sessions with me @

This also includes full structured programming & integration to football training (& running based conditioning) to prepare him not only physically but mentally aswell 💪

The big focus for me for non surgical, conservative management of ACL ruptures for athletes is strengthening the structures around the knee, hip etc

Not only neural strength to stabilise the joint but also structural stability through hypertrophy (muscle mass) which is critical to stabilise the skeletal system, in this case the knee joint which has been compromised through rupturing of the ACL (stops anterior translation of the tibia - thick - medial bone of leg)

I really love athletes who are willing to go all in and focus on exercise based rehab first post ACL rupture rather than opting for the surgical route 💯

We are stating to see more & more multi directional field & court based athletes come back to sport without traditional surgery & going all in on loading & reconditioning ✅

I am not saying surgery should never happen (in a high % of cases yes it should occur) BUT more athletes should at least think about non surgical conservative management to come back to sport & perform

1. Jydon Neagle - head coach

The man, the myth, the legend himself 😉🤣

The man has done it all.. VFL, Victoria country, NSW/ACT academy, SANFL, country league star (ovens and Murray league) the man can play football

I have lots of respect for the man as since I have known him has gone ALL in on understanding sport science & physical preparation to prolong his career but also maintain his high level football performance

If I met him at 16 (same as old mate ) I believe he would of made it at the top level of his sport (yes I am that good lol)

Making the 12 hour round trip at the moment to see me 1 x per week to get his body right for the final part of the season (& he makes no excuses) and I will get him back to his best ❤️

2. Matt Chmait

is the most unluckiest man I have met in football 😩

Knee, shoulder surgery’s in consecutive years has impacted him but hopefully now he can have a clean run at getting the most out of his body for maybe one more crack at football

Like most who come down to , wants to become the best physical & mental version of himself & maximise his talents

Great to have both Boys down 😍

ACL conservative management (aka non surgical)

I keep seeing patterns in my coaching when it comes to rehab & reconditioning of athletic based injuries

ACL ruptures is very interesting to me as for so long it’s been seen as surgery post rupture is the athletes only option

We are now seeing what I have been saying for 7+ years (coaches always in front of the science) that not every athletes needs to get surgery post ACL rupture & can come back to sport successfully if focus is on strength, power, speed etc (exercise based rehab)

I am not saying that every ACL rupture athletes should not get surgery ❌

What I am saying is that there are many athletes who should try conservative based over surgery FIRST (you should complete pre operation strengthening first before surgery so why not give it a shot) due to them being “copa” and can come back to sport without surgery

I keep seeing athletes rupture & re rupture (both same & opposite knee) their ACL post multiple surgery’s & most of them do so without knowing they have ruptured their ACL or after 5-7 (acute) they feel normal again and there is full function back in the knee

There are many factors you need to take into account when deciding if conservative management is for you (ie age of athlete, how much structural damage, do they believe they can come back to sport without surgery, what’s their training age etc) and if surgery is completed understanding that it’s not a quick fix post surgery 🤦‍♂️❌

The most important facet of the entire rehab process imo is the reconditioning, not the surgery!

This will dictate the success of the process and if you come back to sport is successful or not

The ACL surgery & rehab business is a billion $ industry in Australia & keeps growing every year

Moreover, the crap “rehab” programs I see post surgery (you know which profession I am talking about) are so bad, it’s incompetency at the highest level (they are doing a disservice to the athlete)

Strength training & older demographic = CRITICAL for quality of life

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣

THIS IS THE MOST STUPID (& ignorant) study EVER completed 💯

So apparently when you reach 50 years old you need to stop doing any strength training all together ❌

For everyone who is reading this understand that strength training can be & SHOULD be partaken for everyone - age is irrelevant! People who push crap like this to the masses make statements like this;

1. Squats are bad for your knees
2. Deadlifts are bad for your back

3. Strength training stunts your growth lol

4. Strength training makes you slow

5. Strength training makes you bulky

6. If women lift weights then end up looking like men 🤦‍♂️

It’s 💩 like this that spreads garbage - the benefits of strength training well in to older years is critical for motor control, strength, muscular hypertrophy, maintaining BMR etc

People only say this about strength training because it’s takes time to learn - whereas running 🏃‍♀️ (aerobic exercise) needs no equipment & no coaching - just run

I am not saying running or aerobic activity is bad - it’s actually very important for cardiovascular health ✔️

WHAT I am saying is stupid findings like these is the reason WHY we still have a massive obesity epidemic- crash diets, lots of aerobic activity & told not to lift weights (strength train)

Strength training is the closest thing to the fountain of youth we will ever find 💪 get lifting 💯

I first met sip through Woodford Sport Science Consulting favourite son Trent Dennis-Lane and remained in contact ever since

I understand how big sport is in the USA since interning @ & Sip started his punting career @ 💯

The level of athlete, the money pumped into programs & the high level holistic nature of athletic development both at college & pro level over in the USA, it’s on another level to anything I have ever seen

I am really enjoying working with older (30+) athletes who have played their sport at high levels and now have kids & need the structure of holistic coaching to maintain health & optimal performance

is one of those people if you give him structure, education & coaching he will get very good results 💪

Dangy -

Dangy is a great stalwart at and unfortunately ruptured his ACL

He has been training for the last few weeks albeit with no structure or understanding of how or if he can come back to football without surgery, this is where & myself comes into it

I will asses him through my battery of testing we complete @ (force, power, speed etc) then write an individualised program that strengthens the structures around his knee (quads, hamstrings, glutes etc) & hip and then exposure him to fast velocity, reactive/random patterns as rehab - reconditioning continues to best prepare him for coming back to sport

Dangy is coming from a high level raw base (his testing previously at ranked him in the top 2% of all athletes coached at WSSC 🤩💪) & genetically gifted (genetics effect training responses & ceiling) so he should respond very well to my coaching & programming

The big difference in my coaching compared to 99.5% of “other coaches” is 👇

1. 20 years of real world & in trenches experience (I know how to get RESULTS)

2. I give a fk about you & your results (that’s how I built my name & rep in the industry)

3. I am highly educated & can use and understand complex performance science into real world application

&

4. I am holistic in every part of the rehab process 💯 gym, field, integration to sports training, then to game time % etc I understand it’s not just physical rehab but also mental/psychological and the ability to make athletes believe in themselves post injury is what separates the good from the great 💪

180 games VAFA premier 2 x Premiership (2018, 2022)

ruptured his right ACL in 2024 & had the entire 2025 season of football to focus on work

He now wants to come back to football without ACL surgery and focusing on exercise based rehab - reconditioning (aka strength, power, speed, conditioning, mobility etc)

I have said for years athletes in team & individual based sports who rupture their ACL can come back to sport & perform without surgery 💯

It just depends on a few factors & if the athlete buys fully into the program that the coach designs & implements

Even if they decide to have the ACL reconstruction surgery, the athlete should complete 4-6 weeks of intensive pre operation strength work to reduce post operation return to sport time
