🏏 HEAD COACH FOR 2026/27! 🏏

The Omega Cricket Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Joel Wylie as head coach for season 2026/27!

Having coached club cricket and representative cricket teams for over a decade, Joel brings a wealth of knowledge to an already well-oiled machine at Bricker Reserve. His experience playing at an elite level both in Australia and the UK is sure to rub off on the playing group - while his passion and competitiveness will drive the club to further success.

Joel's history with Omega goes a long way back, with his father (and former President) Marty bringing him and his brother to games at Bricker Reserve and functions in the old brick clubrooms. Joel even fronted up for a couple of games in the Omega 2nd XI while on break from premier cricket, and is excited to spend more time at the Brick this season!

We are stoked to have Joel on board and cannot wait to get stuck into the 2026/27 season with him, following on from 1st XI and 2nd XI premierships, and the Champion Club award last season!

🏉 500 GAMES OF FOOTY UMPIRING 🏉

This weekend sees a massive milestone, as Omega CC's own Anthony D’Amico chalks up an incredible 500 games of SFNL footy as a boundary umpire - not a bad effort for a bloke who barely misses a beat during summer either!

Around Omega, we know Dimma as an incredibly loyal and durable player, as well as our guru statistician - but when winter rolls around, he’s out there patrolling the boundary line like clockwork and slinging the ball back into play.

Last year we celebrated Dimma's 350th game at Omega, which added to 500 games of umpiring, and playing 156 games of footy (including a few games of vets footy this season!), is 1000+ games of local sport barely missing a fixture.

We say "barely", as back in 2012, Ant finally gave in to a dodgy foot, had a minor operation… and then rocked up the very next week running the boundary with stitches still in his foot. Tough as they come!

Just an unbelievable effort and a proper example of what community sport is all about - commitment, loyalty, and always fronting up for your mates.

Dimma chalks up the milestone during St.Kilda City vs Hallam at Peanut Farm Sat 6th, at 2pm.

🏏 HEALY COMMITS TO OMEGA FOR 2026! 🏏

Today's an exciting day, as we announce our first new player for 2026/27 - Luke Healy!

Luke has made the jump across to Omega CC off the back of plenty of success batting in the top order, able to shift through the gears from soaking up deliveries to biffing the ball over the fence. We can't wait to have Luke be a part of our community at Bricker Reserve - he's a quality young man who will fit into our club's culture seamlessly!

🏏 SECA CLUB CHAMPIONS 2025/26 🏏

We’re late to the social media update on this one, but better late than never. On Friday 27 March, the Omega Cricket Club were named Club Champions at the SECA Presentation Night!

Whilst also picking up our Woolnough and Quiney trophies, we were beyond stoked to be awarded Club Champions. It was also the night where Gary Thompson was awarded the Aggregate Wickets for the lower grades, huge season from you Gaz!

This award is a testament to our players, committee, club and entire group. Our culture and commitment this season well and truly paid off!

❤️💙 OMEGA PRESENTATION NIGHT 2025/26 💙❤️

On Thursday evening we got together for our annual Presentation Night. As always, we celebrated in style for the successful season that was.

We took this opportunity to induct two new Life Members. Fiona Wilson (60th) and Ben Piper (61st) were given the highest honour for our club, and were surrounded by their gorgeous families for the momentous occasion.
