WINTER SOCIAL BOWLS

The gloomy weather kept a few away, but 30 tough players still showed up to roll. We ended up with mostly pairs and a couple of triples teams on the greens.
We luckily squeezed in one full game of 11 ends. Then, we cut the second game short at 7 ends right before the rain started pouring down!
It was a tough day on the synthetic, but a perfect day for hot soup.

Kings Birthday Social Bowls - We had a fantastic turnout of 47 bowlers who came together to enjoy some great competition on a perfect winter day. The greens were buzzing, the energy was high, and the matches were incredibly close!

We had a great day last Saturday for our social bowls! With a perfect even number of players, we filled all 8 rinks for a great afternoon of 3-bowl pairs.
Competition was fierce, and by the end of the day, only two teams managed to win both of their games!

Winners of the Day - Hayden Watkins & Lynne Porteous – Taking out the top spot by winning just one more end than the runners-up!

Runners-Up: - Grace Cory & Kevin Bosward – Brilliant effort, missing out by the narrowest of margins!
Best 1st Game: Peter Russell & Judy Collins
Best 2nd Game: Mark Power & Andrew Sleight
Congratulations to Peter Vallence with yet another draw! He wasn't alone either—Round 2 saw some incredibly tight battles, finishing with a whopping 3 draws across the rinks.

Another great afternoon on the greens for Saturday Social Bowls — crisp weather, good company, and plenty of friendly competition to keep things interesting.

A big congratulations to our winners:
Peter Vallence, Greg Kelly & Belinda Jackson — well played all day.

And in a rare finish, we had two second‑place teams who couldn’t be split on points or margin. A terrific effort from both teams and a reminder of just how close the games were across the board.

Thanks to everyone who came along, rolled up, shared a laugh, and made it another enjoyable Saturday at Moorabbin. Social bowls is all about connection and community, and days like this show exactly why we love it.

Looking forward to seeing you all back next week.

Last Wednesday night at our club. The Angels - Official St Kilda Football Club Group held their annual On The Couch, hosted by Bruce Eva with past Players, Max Hudghton, Peter Russo & Russell Greene. With over 100 in attendance. Thanks to Tony Barca & Kerry Steinfort for running the bar.
