Cooper Finlay and the Ready-Henry Cups are over for another year. The women were the winners 5-1 over NSW, but the men fell just short losing 15-13 to New South Wales. There were 34 games scheduled over 4 days, of which 32 were played, two washed out, which is a great effort. A big thankyou to the host Clubs, Everton Districts CC, Warehouse Cricket at Marchant Park, Wynnum Districts Cricket Club and the Redlands Tigers Cricket. A big thankyou to all the groundsmen, umpires, scorers, caterers, players and their partners. Huge thankyou to Nelma Grout and John Stackpoole for all the work that has gone into this tournament over the last few months.

I am sad to announce that Ray Tiley passed away overnight, Ray was Over 60's Cap number 30 making his debut in Cooper Finlay at Tenterfield in 2009, and Over 70s Cap Number 16 making his debut in Cooper Finlay on the Gold Coast in 2014. Razor was a personal friend of mine and we went back about 40 years ago being on Committees together, playing with and against each other, and going on Golden Oldies tours together. On behalf of Veterans/Masters Cricket, my sincere condolences to his wife Judy, Andrew and the rest of the Tiley family. RIP old mate, always remembered, never forgotten.
