Sunday was MND Round across the junior football community, an important opportunity to raise awareness and show support for those affected by Motor Neurone Disease.

At The Basin, we were proud to join clubs across the competition in recognising the round and helping shine a light on a cause that affects so many individuals and families.

For our club, it also carries a personal connection, with Jason currently facing this battle. The round was a chance for the club community to acknowledge that and show support to Jason and his family.

Community football is about more than what happens on the field, and rounds like this are a reminder of the power of people coming together to support something bigger than the game.

Thank you to everyone who played their part in recognising MND Round and showing their support throughout the weekend.

💚❤️🐻 Congratulations, Kayla! ❤️💚🐻

What an incredible achievement for one of our own, Kayla, one of our U16’s being selected in the 2026 AFLW Medleys Team.

Chosen as one of just 25 players from across Australia, Kayla will head to Brisbane later this month to compete in a nationally live streamed match.

This selection is a reward for the hard work, dedication and commitment Kayla has shown both on and off the field. We are incredibly proud to see her representing The Basin and showcasing the strength of our girls football program on the national stage.

Congratulations, Kayla! Your Bears family will be cheering you on every step of the way.

Another great session with Tamara Luke!

On Tuesday night, our Under 14 and Under 16’s took part in a development session focused on positive mindset, on-field attitude, managing emotions, respectful interactions, and making good decisions under pressure.

The players then hit the track for a skills session, putting those lessons into practice.

A big thank you to Tamara for sharing her knowledge and experience, and to PJD Building Group for making these sessions possible through their ongoing support.
