The 2026/27 season is just around the corner, and the Hawks & Hawkettes are ready to go! 🏏🔥

The hard work has been happening throughout pre-season, with all our squads putting in the effort and getting themselves ready for another massive year.

The commitment and energy around the club has been unreal, and everyone is ready to hit the ground running stronger, sharper and hungrier than ever. 💪

So I had a mad idea a months back. I needed a new bat... so I made one! Grade 2 English willow, hand carved, fully pressed, finished and ready to go. Then I made a few more. Named them Yellow Robin after the birds that fly into my cabintry workshop.

I'd already been fixing bats for friends; new handles, freshen ups, fibreglass face tape etc and I've already sold a couple of bats to my old club mates but thought I should post something for my local community.

The MCC is thrilled to announce that Brad “Boo” Trinnick will be taking the reins as our Senior Women’s Coach for the 2026/27 season! 🤎💛

Boo brings a wealth of cricket knowledge, experience, and passion for the game. His ability to develop players, build confidence, and create a fun, competitive environment makes him the perfect fit to lead our Hawkettes into the new season.

If you know Boo, you know he’ll always bring plenty of laughs (and probably a few stories too!), but when it comes to cricket, his knowledge and commitment are second to none.

We’re incredibly excited to have him on board and can’t wait to see what this group can achieve together.

For those who didn't know, last Sunday was Monbulk u14s last game of winter cricket (yep... that's a thing) in the Mid Year Cricket Association.
The kids were amazing! 1 washout and some brutily cold games but we finished our first season with 2 wins and only a game out of finals. We had kids from Emerald, Endeavour Hills, Narre Warren and even Toorak-Prahran play alongside Monbulk kids from a mix of our girls team, u12s mixed and u14s.

Thanks to Phil for coaching and Aaron and Sandra for organising. A big shoutout to Lusatia Park Cricket Club for our last game, which was played in glorious sunshine overlooking Donna Buang with the greatest cricket vibe ever!

Vale Dawn Fleming

Condolences to the Fleming family, from all at the MCC.

From the famous Monbulk Fleming family, Dawn was the wife of Don, mother of Graham and Wes and grandmother of Todd - all MCC players.

Attached is a Life Member Review of the 4 famous Fleming boys, which was written by Dawn Fleming which includes memories Dawn shared from her husband Don.

Don and his two sons all played in the 1st XI together in 1977/78. Don was a Life Member of the MCC along with 3 of his brothers Len, Ken and Merv and famously all played in five 1st XI premierships together in the 1950’s.

RIP Dawn and thanks for contributing so much to the amazing history of the MCC.
