This hidden gem of a ride is unreal for all riders. Often splitting into two groups.
“Slappers” for the slower of us, and, the appropriately named “Flappers” for the fast men.

The beauty of this 3.39km loop is that you can show up and jump on whenever you like. Wednesday mornings from 5:30am until 7am ☕️

In Memory of Cameron S

A few weeks ago, DWBCC was kindly gifted two road bikes (via our member Eric) by the family of the late Cameron S, a passionate cyclist who sadly lost his battle with bowel cancer. The family asked for no publicity or payment, simply wanting the bikes to find a good home.

We have since sold one of the bikes and, in Cameron’s memory and on behalf of the DWBCC community, the Club will be making a $500 donation to Cancer Council Victoria to support their important work. The remaining funds will go towards our Bikes for Kids initiative and the team at JP Racing, another brilliant local initiative involving primary school kids, Human Powered Vehicles, fitness and health.

We’d like to thank Cameron’s family for their generosity and for allowing us to turn something Cameron loved into a small contribution towards helping others.

A gentle reminder to everyone in our riding community: please don’t ignore changes in your health or put off getting checked.

If you have any concerns or symptoms, have a chat with your GP and stay up to date with recommended bowel cancer screening.

Ride safe, look after yourselves, and look after each other. 🚴‍♂️💙
