Language is the cornerstone of cultural identity, heritage, connection, and continuity. It is both a privilege and responsibility for us, as members of the Greek Australian diaspora youth, to preserve our connection to the Modern Greek language. As such, the MHSS is very proud to announce our contribution to this vital mission by launching the MHSS x GCM Modern Greek Language Program.
The Program is a fantastic opportunity for Monash students of ALL backgrounds, faculties, and campuses to come together and foster a meaningful connection to Greek cultural heritage. The Program will involve weekly classes in an engaging, familiar environment: our very own Clayton campus! All Monash Students are welcome to attend! You do NOT need Greek heritage, nor any experience in the Greek language, to partake.
The MHSS is very proud to announce that the Program is a formal collaboration with the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM), a leading Greek language school. The GCM’s involvement will ensure the delivery of quality education with world-leading resources and inspiring, experienced educators. The Program will equip all participants with the skills to pass the Certificate of Attainment in Greek (‘Ellinomatheia’), which is the official, internationally-recognised qualification for Greek as a foreign/second language.
Details will be released over the next few days. If there are any questions in the meantime, please leave a comment, send us a DM, or email us at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).
