2026 South Australian Duck Season Announcement!

The Conservation and Hunting Alliance of South Australia (CHASA) would like to congratulate the Government of South Australia and the Department of Environment and Water for announcing the 2026 open season.

Today's notification is an opportunity to celebrate the robust government processes that South Australians are able to enjoy , which have seen another sustainable season set.
The community of South Australia appreciates the commitment to stakeholder engagement and the use of best available science to make these important decisions.

Key conditions the 2026 season will be conducted under are;

Opening Date Saturday 21st March
Closing Date Sunday 28th June
Hunting times Sunrise to Sunset

Bag Limits: 8 birds per day

HEADS UP TO ALL COMPETITORS COMING TO THE NATIONALS IN QUEENSLAND

There is no real conformity to firearm regulations across Australia Each State has its differences.

No one wants to make life hard, but here is a requirement under the Queensland fi****ms regulations all members competing need to be aware of.

You will have to sign on each day at the various shooting ranges when you compete.

ALL participants attending shooting facilities in Queensland MUST present their Fi****ms Licence when they sign in at the shooting range

Please do not question the Range Officer when they request to view your Fi****ms licence. The Range Officer is only covering off his legal requirements when allowing you access to the range

Do not leave it behind in your State or in your other bag at the hotel No Licence, No Shooting. That’s the Law.

FITASC OCEANIA 2025 Day 1 Report

Day 1 of the Oceania Sporting Championships in New Zealand has concluded, and Team Australia has delivered an exceptional performance, showcasing their skill and determination on the international stage.
Chris Brown has claimed the top spot on the score sheet, leading the charge with a fantastic display of precision and consistency. The Open, Ladies, and Junior teams are all currently in front, setting the tone for a strong campaign. Meanwhile, the Seniors and Veterans teams remain in close contention, just a few targets behind the leaders.
With two more days of competition ahead, the stage is set for an exhilarating finish. Let’s rally behind the Aussies and show them how proud we are of their efforts and achievements so far!
