What a beautiful day for a shoot!
78 shooters joined us today to check out Ricky's course. Over two rounds of 37/38 those in attendance visited 9 stations with lots of great variety, with all of the towers and trucks in use.
Thank you to Ricky for the course and to Marcus, Wombat, Craig, Leo, Scotty, Caleb and Izzy for helping me to finish it off yesterday when Ricky was stuck at work.

The pack up crew was hard at work at the end of the day, following the last squad around to ensure that the day wrapped up seamlessly and by 4pm.
Thanks to Caleb, Col, Steve, Bianca, Chris B, Ian, Kev, W***y, and Chris S for all of their effort! It's very appreciated.

Today was sponsored by Thompson's Concreting. John and Robin have been generous supporters of the club for 30 years and we are very grateful for their sponsorship.

Gayle was missing from the kitchen today, having had a new knee put in a few days ago. We wish her good luck with the Captain being her nurse πŸ˜‚
Kristy, the Captain, Barb and Kev did a great job in Gayle's absence today. Thanks team for keeping everyone fed today πŸ™πŸΌ

Vicki very kindly offered to help out in the noms hut today, jumping on the computer and keeping the squads rolling smoothly.

Can you help? In a time of such sadness for all of those affected by these fires, the farmers now have the extremely tough job of putting down their injured stock.
Trelly's have been amazing, along with some big names in the shooting industry, already donating tens of thousands of .22 rounds to those who need them.
Now they're asking for help. If you have some .22 ammo that you can spare, they'd love the donation. Trelly is making himself available to meet people at the shop over the weekend to take donations while they're closed, and the shop staff will gladly take them during opening hours.
If you don't have any .22 rounds but would like to make a donation to buy some you can find the donation details in the comments on Trelly's Facebook post.
It's moments like this that show just how amazing the shooting community is πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
Thinking of everyone affected by the tragedy that continues to unfold across Victoria.

CALL FOR SUPPORT – .22 AMMO DONATIONS NEEDED

Trellys has so far donated tens of thousands of .22 ammunition rounds to support farmers impacted by the fires, and we will continue to do so wherever possible. However, the scale of this disaster means significantly more support is now needed.

We’ve had many local farmers come into our stores to collect free .22 ammunition for stock destruction. These have been incredibly emotional moments, with tears shed over the heart breaking reality of having to destroy beloved stock. This is never an easy thing to face, and our thoughts are with every farmer affected.

If anyone in the area is in a position to help, we are urgently seeking donations of .22 ammunition. All donated ammo can be dropped into either Trellys store, and we will ensure it reaches the farmers and landholders affected.

πŸ“ Drop-off locations:
Shepparton: 03 5821 6572
Bendigo: 0427 595 158

πŸ“ž Weekend support:
We will be on call over the weekend and reachable on 0488 409 789 for anyone needing assistance.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for standing with our farming community. 🀍

We know that things are pretty crazy and up in the air at the moment. So many volunteer firefighters still on the go, days after fires started all across Vic, giving up their time and being home with their own families to try and help others. So many people displaced, uprooting their lives quickly and evacuating their homes and towns with what they can fit in their vehicles.
We're thinking of each and every person affected by these terrible fires. We hope everyone stays safe πŸ™πŸΌ

We have our first shoot of the year on next Sunday 18th January.
We hope this is well and truly over by then 🀞🏼

We're nearly ready to sign off for the year.
Nearly.
At the conclusion of shooting on Sunday we had the honour of presenting the club awards for 2025.
Mick and Ricky kicked it off by awarding the Keirl Brothers Shield to the Junior and Sub Junior winners.
Mick and Ricky started this award to encourage junior shooters around the club to come along each month.
The shooters final tally includes every round they've shot over the year with their handicap added.
The Sub Junior Aggregate Champion is Will (Wombat) Keirl on 733.
The Junior Aggregate Champion is Marcus Keirl on 749.
Well done Boys πŸ‘πŸΌ

The next two awards are sponsored by George and the late June Shawcross. George & June always took such pride in standing up and talking about the winners of their awards each year.
George was unable to make it this year but sent along a message wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas πŸŽ„

The next award presented was the Club Aggregate for 2025.
This award goes to the shooter with the highest overall tally of rounds plus handicap for the year.
With some big scores making up for his lack of handicap over the year, the winner is Ricky Keirl with a total of 816 for the year.

The Club Champion was awarded last.
This award goes to the shooter with the best 20 rounds for the year.
You do not have to attend every shoot to do this, but you do give yourself a better chance of putting some bigger numbers on the board if you do.
With a score of 473/500 the 2025 Club Champion is Ricky Keirl.
Congratulations Ricky πŸ‘πŸΌ

99 shooters joined us today for our 2 Person Team Shoot, not deterred by the weather forecast (even if I didn't want to get out of bed this morning 🫣)
The course set by Daryl, with the help of Grant, Leo and Joe, was lots of fun, with teams shooting at 1-4 targets at a time on each station.
The rain created some challenges for those who were on the ground when it bucketed down, with water flowing into shoes and shooting stands.

The pack up crew were on the ball, following the last squad around in the pouring rain. Thanks to Caleb, Col, Pymz, Steve, Bianca, Chris and Tyler for smashing out the pack up today πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

The canteen was flat out today, selling out late this arvo. A big thank you to Gayle for running the canteen this year, and to the Captain, Barb and Kev for helping her out.

The noms crew all rotated through helping and shooting today. Thanks to everyone who helped out!

High Gun today with an OTG score of 133/144 is Jack Gibbs & Bailey Coulston, who are each taking home a nice big ham πŸ–

With the rest of the scores including handicap the results are as follows:

1st - Tony and Danny

2nd - Thommo and Will

3rd - Steve and Bianca

4th - Mick and Ricky

5th - St**fy and Affie

6th - Izzy and Caleb

7th - Ian and Jennah

8th - Jum and Dean

9th - Roger and David

There was also a lucky prize for a random team who did not get a grab.
The lucky team was David and James.

At the end of presentations the major raffle was drawn.
Congratulations to Kevin W on winning first place.
Other winners included Will Edge, Brayden Baker, Peter Kerr, Brodie Spedding and Glen Viney.
Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket or two and supported the club πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
