Bicep Curl Machine Tutorial 💪

Want bigger, stronger biceps? Here’s how to use the pin-loaded bicep curl machine correctly:

✅ Adjust the seat so your armpits sit comfortably against the pad
✅ Keep your chest tall and shoulders down
✅ Grip the handles firmly
✅ Curl the weight up by squeezing your biceps
✅ Pause briefly at the top
✅ Lower the weight slowly and with control

⚠️ Avoid swinging your body or lifting your elbows off the pad.

Pro Tip: Focus on a full range of motion and control the lowering phase for maximum muscle growth.

Tye is our Head Coach at Impact and expert in strength training. With a passion for helping people become stronger and more confident, he brings a wealth of knowledge to every session.

Tye’s coaching style focuses on proper technique, smart programming, and helping you get the most out of every session.

1. What got you into fitness?
Wanting to be stronger due to being a small skinny kid - but the passion evolved as I learnt more bout heavy lifting and fell in love with putting more weight on the bar.

2. What do you love most about coaching at Impact?
Getting to teach people about something I’m so passionate about as my job

3. What do you want members to feel after your session?
Like they’ve learnt something new - and have a new perspective about their health and fitness journey. That it’s not all about looks.

4. Biggest gym ick?
People not putting their weights away. If you can pick them up to move them. You can put them away

5. Coffee order?
Large cap 1 sugar

6. Most used coaching phrase?
Make sure you’re bracing and the body doesn’t want to change. You’ve gotta make it change.

7. How would you describe your coaching style in 3 words?
Kind. Approachable. Realistic .

8. Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Training 2 days a week for the rest of your life is better than training 6 days a week for a month

9. What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
I’m a certified horticulturist

10. What’s one thing you’re currently working on improving?
My powerlifting total. 700kg here I come

If you’ve ever done Brooke’s class before, you already know… loud encouragement, no sugar coating while still having a laugh the whole way through 😅

What got you into fitness?
“Honestly, I got into fitness nearly 20 years ago in the peak bikini body guide and skinny tea era (dark times 😅). But I stayed because I found incredible people and learnt that being strong is far more powerful than just trying to be smaller.”

What do you love most about coaching at Impact?
Helping members achieve things they didn’t think they were capable of and watching their confidence and progress grow 👏

What do you want members to feel after class?
“Cooked… but in a good way! Satisfied and glad they showed up.”

Biggest gym ick?
Using a machine that’s still warm from the last person 😅

Coffee order?
Almond capp in the biggest size available ☕️

Most used coaching phrase?
“You’ll survive.”

3 words to describe your coaching style?
Loud. Supportive. Honest.

Best advice you have ever been given?
“You should absolutely become a Pilates instructor.” 😅

“I’m a pretty open book with no filter so there’s probably not much!”

“My singing voice so I stop traumatising the Pilates members 😂 But seriously… knowledge. Always knowledge.

OUR NEW KIDS AREA IS COMPLETE 👶✨
‼️Parents please read‼️

We’re excited to announce that our new crèche officially starts this Monday!

Our lovely new carer Trish will be running the crèche at 9:30-10:30amevery:
• Monday
• Wednesday
• Thursday
• Friday

Best part? It’s completely FREE for all members 🙌

This space has been created to help make it easier for parents to stay consistent with their training, juggle the kids, and still prioritise themselves and their routine ❤️

The kids area will also be available for all parents to utilise at any time. We’ve also installed a camera in the room that can be monitored from the gym floor, so you can still get your workout done while keeping an eye on your little one 👀

The only thing we ask from parents is please no food in the designated kids area. While we know snacks can help keep kids occupied, this is to help us:
• Keep the space hygienic
• Avoid attracting mice as this is commercial space
• Reduce choking risks for younger babies
• Manage allergies safely

We’re super excited to offer this for our members and can’t wait to see it being used 🫶

Our star manager across Barooga + Moama… and a massive part of what makes Impact, Impact.

What got you into fitness?
Loved doing sports at a young age which then lead into a passion for learning about the human body and how it works in relations to athletes

What do you love most about coaching at Impact?
The community, might be biased but going to work is easy when your surrounded by not only the best members but the best group off staff.

What do you want members to feel after your session?
I want members to feel empowered and educated and as though they will be supported throughout there journey not only physically but mentally

Biggest gym ick?
People leaving equipment in the floor especially when it’s right next to where it needs to go

Coffee order?
Hot choccy (don’t drink hot coffee) or iced coffee with cold phone

Most used coaching phrase?
Youve got 2 more (makes them do 2 extra reps)
How would you describe your coaching style in 3 words?
Supportive, progressive, confident

Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
I’m a black belt in karate with multiple gold medals in fighting 🫠

What’s one thing you’re currently working on improving?

Work: continually educating myself on nutrition and different ways to run programs/ classes

We’ve just made training a whole lot better and easier at Impact.

We’re introducing a FREE supervised creche for all members, this means you can train knowing your kids are looked after 😎

🕘 Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri – 9:30–10:30
✔️ Lines up with selected Pilates + group fitness classes
✔️ Also available for anyone training in the open 24/7 gym during that time.

We’ve also upgraded the timetable:
✔️ More Pilates + group fitness classes
✔️ New Boxing class with Tye
✔️ 2x WOD classes added
✔️ Welcoming new coaches

Plus, the kids area will be open for use anytime outside creche hours.

Creche is currently under construction and will be ready in around 3 weeks.
