Hi Community ♥️

Just another kind reminder that we are now The Big Red Arts Society. 🎨

Here are some Collaborative Projects we've undertaken and have coming (some) 🥰...

Big Love.

And a personal note from Jess:

Thank you to all that were part of my foundational journey in business and in finding my self worth... And I am also sorry to anyone that I let down in the process. An energetic elephant never forgets. I wish all of you the best and am proud to announce that I took all I'd learned, all of my mistakes and new business skills + motivation to expand my artistry and create a better life for my daughter and I... And started again. I am always here and am so grateful for those who danced and laughed with me during hardship and early days of business. I learned to design, invoice, manage, set boundaries, advocate for myself, learned from what I ran from or faced too head on, expanded my knowledge on how business and the world + people work and broke barriers of inner fear of expanding to my true potential.

I'm not Coach Big Red anymore...

I'm Jess the Multiniched Creative and Alchemist. I love turning everything into Art.

I'm so proud of all that BRDS achieved.

HI EVERYONE. ♥️

Long time no see... It's Jess here!
Some time ago, I randomly lost access to this account. I received a universal bump to make a new FB for us... And then a much bigger nudge after that...

BRDS officially closed on the 5/5/24.

We are now The Big Red Arts Society.

We reopened as an Arts Collabortive, with currently no general classes.

🤝🌍 We still advocate for who we did before but we no longer just exist for dance, but to cater and welcome musicians, visual artists and other performance types.

🐉 We also now connect with and advocate for other local businesses in holistic health, wellness, movement and the arts in general.

💫 Our first event was our "Survivor and Community Advocate" Photoshoot. It was a huge success.

Please feel free to follow TBRAS on Instagram and FB. It doesn't cost anything to be a part of us.

Our new message is not as focussed on FOUNDATIONS but on your human right to REBIRTH yourself at any given time.

BRDS was an honourable endeavour that closed because I was a new woman now, I'd built my foundations and decided to start again... Because I can and I/We are more than dancers, I decided to honour all of us.

Thank you all for your support.

People might wonder where their craft supplies and toys go... when they hand them to me.

This is a craft kit for a young lady in our Southern Suburbs, who is crafty, emphatic and very caring. She doesn't have access to good supplies and has some instability at home, which I will not go into.

I feel better about myself today, creating this for her and will now pass on. This is my work.

I have left her a note instructing her to never give up and told her she is talented and important.

BRDS is not just here for dance. ❤ Big Love girl.

I've been watching.
It's so beautiful watching other dancers from my childhood grow and evolve within themselves.

We reflect where we are in life and what we are learning, in our choreography. It's a behavioural pattern. I can read a lot of who you are from how you move and perform.

I see:
- Experimenting with old school vs new school moves (mentality.)
- Collision of styles from different cultures, playing around with foreign movements. (Challenging tradition.)
- Experimenting with the sensual/sexual self (this is healthy and part of life.)
- Intentional choreographic rebellion from styles that had been taught to students for a large part of their life. (Challenging movement "norms" and foundations.)
- Powerful moves coming from times of turbulence and pain (Healthy Artistic Work.)
- Choreography coming from abandonment wounds and the need to please external forces and peers who do not understand them.
- Beautifully fluid moves coming from artists who come from rigid and structured systems and cultures (Release.)

I have lived these and to use my own example...

I have been known to produce routines with big, powerful themes and moves. High intensity all of the way through. I struggled with soft and feminine moves for a long time because I struggled with this part of myself.

My best routines are a release of pent up energy, frustration and yearning for divinity, flourishing and self protection. My Choreography has been inherently quite masculine over time. This has be to keep myself from what Women were viewed as in Hip Hop/RnB/Religious industries as a child. It also was a way for me to connect with men and culture, as I came from a traditional Western, Christian family. My style is evolving not to Hip Hop/Street Dance/Funk... but to Choreography by Jessica Shulver.

We all have a story and an evolution. Where are you at right now? 🥰🤝 I am learning by watching you. Big Love
