πŸ”Š Sound on for this one. Behind every new skill are the drills, the wobbles, and the attempts that didn't quite land. That's what makes this moment so loud, the whole team knows exactly what it took to get here. Gymnastics builds grit as much as it builds skill, and that's something we're just as proud to nurture.

There's nothing like watching your little one take those first wobbly steps along the beam, hand in hand with you. Parent & Me at KindaGym is built for exactly that moment: growing stronger, growing braver, one class at a time. For ages 18 months β€” 2.5 years. Book a trial via the link in bio. ❀️

Confidence isn't just something a child either has or doesn't. Research suggests it's something you can actually build, and it starts in the body.

A study of 295 children aged 8 to 11 measured motor coordination across five groups: gymnasts, cyclists, swimmers, athletes, and children doing no organised sport. The gymnastics group scored significantly higher on coordination than the swimming, cycling and non-sport groups.

Here's the part that matters most. Separate research backs this up too: motor competence has been shown to predict self-esteem in children. The better a child's physical coordination, the higher their self-esteem tends to be.

This is exactly why we see it every week at The Academy. A child who masters a new skill on the mat doesn't just get better at gymnastics. They start walking a little taller everywhere else too.
Book a trial and watch it happen for your child.

There's a specific part of the brain most parents never think to train, executive function, the skills behind self-control, memory and mental flexibility.

A 2024 study tracked 63 children aged 5 and 6 over 12 weeks. One group did structured gymnastics three times a week. The other group carried on as normal.

The result was measurable. Children in the gymnastics group showed a significant improvement across three separate executive function skills, the ability to control impulses, hold information in mind, and switch between tasks. The children who didn't do structured gymnastics showed no such gains.

These are the exact skills that help a child sit still at school, follow instructions, and manage frustration when something's hard.

We've been building these skills into every class for 54 years. Book a trial and give your child's brain the same head start as their body.

Balance on the beam. Power on the bars. Every skill built on padded, purpose-built equipment, with a coach right there spotting every attempt. This is what your child's training looks like week to week, whether they're finding their first balance or working toward their next skill. ⭐
