👇🙌🏼
As our WBC coverage comes to an end, here are a few ways to support Australian baseball in both the digital and physical world 👇
Every player you saw at the WBC was raised by a village. We are a small, mighty, supportive and competitive baseball family. Over the past few weeks we have gained some new followers and seen some old passions reignited. We would hate to lose touch, so we thought we would put this together.
Every follower counts.
Let’s start with the grassroots, because that is what makes it all happen.
1️⃣ Grassroots Coverage
We update Baseball.com.au with coverage of local stories, updates on Aussies performing around the world, college baseball, women’s baseball, the minor leagues, national championships and feature stories.
In short, it is an account that celebrates baseball news and Aussies doing great things at home and abroad.
Give .com.au a follow and come along for the journey.
There are over 120 Aussies in college, and over 30 pro players.
We will leave a stack of accounts to follow in the comments.
2️⃣ Create a free account on Baseball+
This is our streaming platform and the home of Australian baseball broadcasts. There are about 60,000 subscribers and every bit helps when speaking with sponsors.
We stream the ABL, National Championships, exhibition events, Little League and some bespoke shows and content. Most of it is free, although the ABL requires a subscription.
You can visit plus.baseball.com.au or download the app in the App Store. Even just registering a free account helps.
Up next on Baseball+:
The 2026 Women’s and Youth Women’s Championships, featuring national team stars, WPBL players and an influx of exciting new talent.
Tune in and say hello from April 12 to 18 👋
It is March right now, which means many state associations are wrapping up their local league seasons. Follow those pages for streaming details of local games. Each market is a little different.
3️⃣ The Australian Baseball League
Professionally, there is the ABL. There is probably a more nuanced discussion to be had there and this thread is not the place for it. However, all 30 players on our 2026 roster have played on one of these six teams.
Give these professional accounts, past or present, a follow.
The league is deeply important. It gives our players a place to compete and improve. Many people behind the scenes worked incredibly hard to make sure the ABL existed this season for exactly that reason. The league runs from November to February.
MLB, NPB and KBO teams send prospects here. Names like Acuña, Caminero and Imanaga have played in the ABL.
It is our big leagues, and there are many people who care deeply about it.
The best way to support is by watching, buying a ticket, showing up and spreading positivity. Talk about the players and storylines of the season like you would any other league. It truly means a lot.
Games are streamed on Baseball+. Register now so we can keep you updated with league news.
It is really good baseball. If you are in Australia, buy a ticket and speak with your feet. Check out a game and bring a friend.
If you are outside Australia, a Baseball+ subscription helps. Even registering for a free account helps too.
4️⃣ Check out a local club
This is the lifeblood of the sport.
In our experience, clubs are passionate and supportive places that help people become the best version of themselves. Whether you are young or old, male or female, experienced or brand new, there is a league that suits your level.
Baseball is growing. We are up to 34,000 participants during this WBC cycle compared with 29,000 in 2023.
Every player on our team fell in love with baseball at a local club. That is where it all begins.
You can find one using the club finder at Baseball.com.au.
5️⃣ Fight for us
Honestly, just keep going to bat for Aussie baseball.
Those who know it, love it. Those who do not know it will love it if we show them.
We have to fight for every inch here.
Message news outlets. Share stories on your feed. Bring someone to a game. Talk about it like it matters, because it does.
6️⃣ Believe and be kind
The final line is simple.
Believe.
Do not let people tell you that something cannot grow. Do not let them say Australian baseball will never make it.
Be kind. The world can be a tough place and people can be cruel.
Your words are powerful. Spread positivity about our game and the connection it creates.
Criticism and feedback are valuable when done respectfully and with the intention of improving the sport and the people within it. Lift each other up.
People read comments on posts. How you talk about a sport matters. It is how newcomers will judge it, just like reading a review. Try to spread love and positivity, not just in baseball but in life 🤙
That is what was so special about this WBC. People were together and proud.
Is that not a much better feeling?
I think that is the part of this journey we will remember the most. The feeling of being united.
Let’s carry that forward.
Players in Korea, Taiwan and Japan play 130 plus game seasons. Most of our players play around 40 games.
Look how we competed.
Imagine what we could do if we played more.
Slowly, surely, and little by little we can get there. I truly believe that. Every player’s journey to this team is the culmination of thousands of small efforts from our community, from grassroots to the ABL and beyond.
Let’s be the movement.
Support each other. Talk about the light in Australian baseball.
