Looking for something active, fun and exciting these July school holidays? 🙌

Join Softball Victoria and our fantastic host Clubs and Associations for a day packed with softball, games, new friends and plenty of fun! 🎉

Whether you're new to softball or already play, our experienced and accredited coaches will guide participants through fun, game-based activities designed to build confidence, develop skills and introduce the different elements of softball including batting, fielding, throwing, catching and base running.

Vale Elaine Duyvestyn OAM

Softball Victoria is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Life Member Elaine Duyvestyn OAM, one of the most respected and influential figures in Victorian softball history.

Elaine was a cornerstone of Victorian softball administration for more than five decades, helping deliver everything from grassroots competitions through to National Championships, World Championships and major international events. Her contribution to our sport leaves a legacy that will be felt for generations.

Beginning her softball journey as a player at Fawkner Park in 1968, Elaine's love for the game quickly evolved into a lifetime of service. She went on to coach, volunteer and hold numerous committee positions with her beloved Wingers Softball Club, while also becoming one of the longest-serving administrators in Victorian softball.

Elaine was a regular fixture within the Melbourne Softball Association from its inception in 1982, serving in numerous leadership and operational roles, including Secretary, General Manager and Competition Coordinator. She also held multiple positions with the Women's Amateur Softball Council of Victoria, the Victorian Softball Association and Softball Victoria, including Treasurer, State Administrator, Vice President and Board Member.

Throughout her career, Elaine played a key role in the delivery of countless National Championships, international events and major competitions hosted in Victoria. She was also instrumental in establishing initiatives including the Victorian Masters Challenge and the state's inaugural coach accreditation program, helping shape the future of softball in Victoria.

Her tireless dedication to softball was recognised through Life Memberships of Wingers Softball Club, Melbourne Softball Association and Softball Victoria, as well as the Australian Sports Medal and, most notably, the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to softball and the community.

Those fortunate enough to know Elaine will remember her unwavering commitment, exceptional organisational skills, generosity and passion for the people of our sport. Much of what softball enjoys today in Victoria has been shaped by her countless hours of service, leadership and advocacy.

On behalf of the Victorian softball community, we extend our sincere condolences to Elaine's family, friends, former teammates, colleagues and all those whose lives she touched through softball.

Thank you, Elaine. Your contribution to our sport was extraordinary, and your legacy will live on forever. 💙🥎
