With a forecast of rain and wind the captain was not expecting many at golf, but 9 ladies braved the chilly weather to play a round of Stableford. The 18-hole winner of the day was Clare, with Susan coming in second on a count back from Angela. The 9-hole winner was Dimity with Nadine coming in second. NTP 8 Clare, Longest Putt 9 Kara, Monthly Long Drive 16 Rhianne. Might take a while for us to thaw out.

After the final round of our championships yesterday we had the honour of handing out a few special awards. Jane Keeffe received a badge to recognize the ‘eagle’ she made during our 27 hole event in June 2026. Natham Turner received a certificate to commemorate the ‘hole in one’ he made back in September 2025 and Martha Simpson has had her golf ball mounted and a badge to remember her ‘hole in one’ in July 2026. A huge achievement by all. Rumour has it that someone else scored an eagle during the championships. This might need some further investigation.

Numbers have been down the last few weeks but we were almost back to full strength this week. On 23rd July we played Stableford. The winner of the 18 hole competition was Tania with Susan coming runner up. The 9 hole winner was Clare with Nadine coming in second. NTP 2 was Tania. A number of ladies then travelled to Coorow to play in the VDLGA.

On 30th July we played Par. The winner of the day was Jane with Angela coming second on a countback from Martha. NTP 2 Jocelyn, NTP 14 Jocelyn. Birdie on no. 14 Jocelyn. Ladies monthly best 3rd no. 10 Tania.

A number of ladies then travelled to Watheroo to participate in the NEDLGA. Congratulations to Watheroo for holding such a successful event. Congratulations to all the Miling members who came away with trophies. A special congratulations to the Tania, Andrea and Jane for taking out the Gross Team Event and Tania, Andrea and Angela for taking out the Nett Team Event. The ladies, and I guess some of the men, looked fantastic in our new club merchandise. A huge thanks to Rhianne for organizing this for us.

This week we played Stableford. The 18 hole winner was Andrea with Tania coming in second and Kara coming third. The 9 hole winner was Clare with Dimity coming in second and Nadine coming in third. NTP 8 Angela, NTP 17 Clare. Birdie no. 2 Andrea, Birdie no. 14 Rhianne. Rhianne also took out the birdie bank. A reminder that Club Championships are Thursday 13th August and Saturday 15th August. Please let your captain know if you are playing.

This week the Miling Golf Club ladies played Jubilee Fours. The winners of the day are eligible to go to Perth to play off against other clubs. The winners of the day were Angela and Martha, with Tania and Rhianne coming in second and Valma and Hilary in third. Dimity was our nine-hole winner. Best 2nd no. 9 Tania and Rhianne and best 2nd no. 12 Angela and Martha. Next week we play Stableford.

After the excitement of Martha’s hole in one, we best fill in the rest of the day.
In absolutely perfect weather we once again welcomed a couple of our favourite RV Tour players, Bevan and Lorraine Martin. Fantastic to see them both again.
Well done to Martha, who won the day all square after her hole in one on number 14, a perfect golf shot with a 7 iron, I believe.
Inform, Jane Keeffe came in second with a -1, playing very consistently over the last few weeks.
Bevan showed us how its’s done, chipping in for 2 birdies
