For three whole weeks, these little ducks have been secretly hiding around the club, and somehow, with well over 100 people through the doors, not one person noticed them!

We’ve had 3 social nights, a members’ day, 2 private functions and a CDLBA meeting, and still the ducks managed to keep their cover.

Then along comes Sneaky Nell, cleaning the club one day…

And what does she find?

THE DUCKS!

Not to be outdone, Paddles discovers them too while he’s putting up the TV!

Paddles asks me, “Are there any more?”

Well… it was three weeks ago, so naturally I had absolutely no idea. 😂

So now the little ducks have become a secret club scavenger hunt , Nellie found them while cleaning, Paddles found them while installing a TV, and I’m left wondering where the rest are hiding!

Clearly these ducks are better at hiding than we are at finding them!

Keep your eyes peeled… you never know where they’ll pop up next! 👀🐥

Today is a little reminder to celebrate the dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures who give so much to their families and the people around them.

This year hasn’t been the greatest for everyone, and sometimes the people we love most don’t hear often enough just how much they mean to us. So I wanted to do something small to remind our dads that we see you, we appreciate you, and we are forever grateful for everything you do — even if we don’t say it enough.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to send through a message. I’ve genuinely cried reading every single one. The love, gratitude and stories behind each message have been so beautiful, and it’s been lovely seeing just how much these men mean to their families.

Some messages are funny, some are emotional, and some have definitely pulled at the heartstrings , but every single one comes from the heart.

To all our dads, thank you for the laughs, the advice, the helping hands, the sacrifices, the long hours, the phone calls, the beers, the cuddles and, most importantly, for simply being there.

You might not always realise the difference you make, and we might not always say it enough, but you are loved, you are appreciated, and you matter more than you know.

And to the dads who are no longer with us, but whose love, memories and lessons remain with us every day ,you are remembered and loved today too.

To anyone who would like to add a message, please do! I’d absolutely love to see everyone’s messages up there. Whether it’s a few simple words, a funny story or something a little more heartfelt, let’s celebrate as many of our dads as we can. Sometimes the little things we say mean the most.

REMINDER — MONTHLY MEETING

Just a reminder that our monthly meeting is tomorrow night at the club.
Board Members:

Please be at the club by 6:00pm for the Board Meeting. This is an important meeting, so please make the time to come down if you can.

Playing Committee Members:
Following the Board Meeting, we ask that all Playing Committee Members please stay and attend. Your input and ideas are important as we continue planning for the club and our bowls season.

Thank you all for your continued support, input and the time you put into our club.

Today may have been a small Father’s Day celebration, but it was honestly perfect. ❤️

It’s days like today that remind me it’s not about how many people are here — it’s about the people who are. The laughs, the friendships, the banter and the feeling that, somehow, this little club has become its own family.

To all the dads who spent part of their day with us, thank you for sharing it with our little bowls family. And to the dads who couldn’t make it, you were still very much thought of and missed. You’re just as much a part of this family, and we hope you know how appreciated you are.

The afternoon wouldn’t be complete without a few important mentions. Jonesy absolutely devoured the sangas, while Juicy was looking pretty keen to get stuck into the dishes afterwards. I could tell, mate!

And a big woohoo to Nellie and team , who took out the overall win this afternoon, teaming up with Chris Davies in the pairs and walking away with a $30 meat voucher! Well done, team.

Today was just a little taste of what’s to come as we head towards our 2027 season. I can’t wait for another year with you lot — more laughs, more good times, more questionable bowls and plenty of reasons to hear…

“Here comes that rowdy crowd!”

So let’s live up to that name in 2027… well, sometimes.

Bring on 2027. Let’s make it our daddiest season yet.
