Excellent advice for paddling on the Murray River. I always have concern when shallow water and fallen trees force me to paddle close to the centre of the river when powered vessels are on the water.

If you're planning on paddling, remember to always:

✅ Always wear a lifejacket
✅ Wear highly visible clothing and display an all-round white light at night
✅ Check the weather conditions and know the limits of your craft
✅ Keep a proper look out at all times
✅ Keep safe, stay to the right an avoid the centre of a channel or river

Riverland Paddle Marathon on the June long weekend is so close to us here in Mildura. I stay at the Waikerie campground. There are so many distance options available - Short or long each day. Beautiful section of river so different to our river here. The current last year was about 2km/hr so there is a bit of assist - my speed was only 8kph overall but that is enough to do the job.

Entries are underwhelming to be fair but the number of people that i have spoken with is very near required minimum entries.
If all that are coming can enter ASAP so we can confirm the RPM26 is happening. Can pay later or we will 100% refund if race not proceeding.
