Good Luck BMX World Championship Athletes!

Wishing Milla Rentsch from the South West Academy of Sport, Makenzie Copland from the WestVic Academy of Sport, and Ruby Nemtsas and Chase Faux from the Sunraysia Academy of Sport all the very best as they head to Brisbane for the BMX World Championships from 17th to 25th July.

Representing on the world stage is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment they have shown throughout their BMX racing journeys.

This is an incredible opportunity to compete and gain valuable international racing experience, and showcase the strength of VRAS athletes.

🌟 Sunraysia Academy of Sport Athlete Education Session 🌟

Last month, our athletes had the opportunity to take part in another valuable Athlete Education Session, with a focus on personal growth and goal setting.

A huge thank you to Ben Milsom for delivering such an engaging and insightful session. Ben challenged our athletes to think about their goals, the steps required to achieve them, and the importance of setting meaningful SMART goals🙏

It was fantastic to see so many athletes actively involved throughout the session, with a number of athletes stepping up to share their goals with the group. Opportunities like this play an important role in developing not only better athletes, but also confident and capable young people💫

A big thank you again to Ben for his time, enthusiasm, and willingness to share his knowledge with our athletes.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank La Trobe University Mildura for their ongoing support. As a valued partner of SAS, they continue to provide a fantastic venue and environment for our athlete education sessions, helping us deliver these important opportunities to our athletes✨

🏃‍♂️❄️ Swan Hill Winter Athletics Program Off to a Flying Start! ❄️🏃‍♀️

It’s been a jam-packed opening few weeks for our Sunraysia Academy of Sport Swan Hill Winter Athletics Program!

Our athletes have already benefited from multiple strength and conditioning sessions at the incredible Specialized Performance & Recovery facility, guided by experienced and passionate coach Dani. The commitment and enthusiasm shown by our athletes has been fantastic to see.

We also had two athletes travel to Athletics Essendon for a highly beneficial athletics clinic with coach Maddy Koeleman-Wilson. The session covered running technique, drills, block starts, triple jump and long jump, before finishing with athlete education around recovery, cool-downs and foam rolling techniques.

These fantastic opportunities would not be possible without the support of our program sponsor, Swan Hill Little Athletics Centre. Thank you for helping us provide these valuable experiences for our athletes🙏

A big thank you also to Specialized Performance & Recovery for being the strength and conditioning home of the program💪

🏐 Volleyball Country Championships Recap – A Weekend to Remember! 🏐

What a fantastic weekend it was for our Sunraysia Academy of Sport Volleyball athletes at the Senior Country Championships over the June Long Weekend!

It was fantastic to see a number of our athletes stepping up into higher divisions this year and embracing the challenge, with all athletes representing themselves, their teams and the Sunraysia region with pride.

🏅 Division 2 Women – 4th Place• Poppy Wilkes (Selected in the All-Star 7)• Brooke Price• Sala Malaeulu

🏐 Division 3 Men – 10th Place• Archie Wilkes

🏐 Division 3 Women – 7th Place• Holly Currah• Joey Quiroz• Paige Fitzsimmons• Georgia Cohrs

We would also like to acknowledge Alexander Ellis and Jess Prince, who were both selected in the Division 2 Men’s and Division 2 Women’s teams respectively. Unfortunately, injuries sustained prior to the championships prevented them from taking the court, but selection alone is a fantastic achievement and recognition of their hard work throughout the program.

A special congratulations to Poppy Wilkes on being selected in the Division 2 Women’s All-Star 7 — an outstanding achievement against some of the state’s best country volleyballers.

We also acknowledge our outstanding SAS Volleyball Coach, Adrian Fox, who played an integral role in the Division 1 Men’s Championship-winning team, helping guide them to a Gold Medal performance.

Congratulations to all athletes, coaches and teams involved. We are incredibly proud of what you achieved over the weekend and look forward to seeing what comes next! 💙💛

A huge congratulations to our Sunraysia Academy of Sport tennis athletes who competed over the long weekend at the Community Bank Merbein Junior Tennis Tournament in Mildura⭐️

Our athletes have been working extremely hard throughout the program during their on-court sessions with Cam Phillips and Eliza Hill, along with their strength and conditioning sessions in the gym with Cam. It was fantastic to see that hard work rewarded, with all athletes giving it their all and producing some fantastic results across the tournament💪

⚽🏐 GOOD LUCK TO OUR SUNRAYSIA ACADEMY OF SPORT SOCCER & VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES! 🏐⚽

A huge good luck to our Sunraysia Academy of Sport Soccer and Volleyball athletes as they travel away this weekend to represent their clubs and region at two major championships💫

Over the past four-plus months, our athletes have worked incredibly hard as part of their SAS programs. Through strength and conditioning sessions, outdoor conditioning, technical training, athlete education, high-performance clinics, and much more, they have shown outstanding commitment to their development both on and off the court and field⭐️

This weekend, our Soccer athletes will compete in Geelong at the Junior Country Championships, while our Volleyball athletes head to Bendigo for the Senior Country Championships.

We are extremely proud of the effort, dedication and growth shown by all athletes throughout their programs and have no doubt they will represent themselves, their teams and our region with pride

🎾 Tennis Victoria High Performance Day 🎾

What a fantastic experience for our Sunraysia Academy of Sport tennis athletes, who recently travelled to Melbourne to attend the Tennis Victoria High Performance Day⭐️

The day provided an incredible opportunity for our athletes to train at the home of tennis, participate in high-quality hitting sessions, gain valuable information and education, and receive support from some of the best people in the sport. Experiences like these are invaluable in helping our athletes continue their development both on and off the court💪

It was also fantastic for our athletes to connect and train alongside athletes from the five other Regional Academies of Sport from across Victoria. The opportunity to build relationships, share experiences, and be part of a larger high-performance environment added even greater value to the day💫

A huge thank you to Tennis Victoria for putting together such a well-run and beneficial day. We greatly appreciate the opportunities you continue to provide for emerging athletes across Victoria.
