Why your not losing weight. CHECK YOUR SLEEP

less sleep = increased fatigue

increased fatigue -less movement

less movement = fewer calories
burnt

fewer calories burnt = smaller or
no deficit

less sleep and more fatigue can also lead to a hire intake of high calorie "tasty" foods

If your trying to lose weight and recover faster, more sleep is almost always a positive.
look after your sleep and your body will look after you

Why you keep losing weight and regaining it!!!!

1. You lack consistency.
you use your motivation to go for a run, do those extra steps and eat a salad for lunch and dinner
then you wake up tomorrow and you havent lost any weight so you give up until motivation strikes again

2. You dont track your weight fluctuations.
weight can fluctuate daily and if you dont record your weight daily or atleast as often as possible then the chances are you keep weighing yourself on the heaviest day on the week,
so at first glance you only see a negative and once again give up

3. You rely on fast feedback to power your motivation .
How often have you tried to lose weight and the scale has said otherwise, or you were hoping someone would notice and they didnt, so you gave up because if you need to put in all this effort and nothing is happening then

1. why bother or
2. There must be something wrong with your genetics

this couldnt be further from the truth, weight loss takes time, planning and statergy,
the feedback will come just dont expect it over night

4. You are unrealistic with your goals.
Often we expect to lose 10 kilos by X date when we have no experience losing weight in the first place. this only sets us up for dissapointment and failure.

tip: whatever time you think its going to take, DOUBLE it.
tip #2: stop thinking of it as a diet and start thinking of it as a lifestyle change

TAEKAWAY:
remain consistent. dont give up at the first since of struggle
whats measured is managed, track your daily weight fluctuations to make more accurate decisions each week
fast feedback is great, however it is unreliable, chase long term feedback and delayed gratification, you are not broken or have poor genetics. maybe you just need guidance
your goal wont happen as fast as you think, double the time you think it will take and think more lifestyle change and less diet

The Fat Loss Pyramid

A lot gets mixed up with whats most important when losing weight or changing lifestyles so lets break it down.

1. Calorie deficit and Micronutrients - goes without saying the calorie deficit is key, without it just throw the whole pyramid in the bin because it will not work, MICRONUTRIENTS however are important regardless due to the importance of micronutrient deficiencies.

2. Protein and healthy fats - Sufficient
Protein intake will aid in muscle building, maintenance, repair and satiety, meaning you will feel fuller for longer, there isnt really a downside to having protein. HEALTHY FATS help up regulate body and hormone function as well as cognition and hair, skin and nail health.

3. Carbs though not technically essential provide a reliable and available energy source for energy, stamina, endurance, power and recovery, and who doesn't love carbs right.

4.sleep and rest are often overlooked, however giving the body adequate rest allows the body to manage and reduce fatigue meaning more energy and less hunger cravings when dieting

5. Supps are the 1% or even less, supps that will have the most effect on weight-loss will simply be caffeine as it's an appetite suppressant and a adenosine inhibitor, giving you the illusion of more energy by making you feel less tired, other supps that can help will often have less of an effect and are not worth mentioning

fat loss doesn't need to be complex, make sure you are dealing with the big blocks before you tackle the little rocks

5 lies stopping you from losing weight.

ill be honest in the past 20 years there as been a massive amount of bu****it surrounding weightloss, so lets clear some things up.

1. late night snacking does not = weight gain

2. spot reduction is not a thing. if it were i would have shredded abs all year round.

3. carbs are not your enemy, carbs are a super efficient energy source and will only contribute to weight-loss when in a caloric surplus

4. sweating does not = fat loss, unfortunately its not that simple, yes fat can be metabolised and broken down into your sweat, however unless you in a caloric deficit this is unlikely to happen and is simply just your body trying to cool itself.

5. fat burners, do not burn fat. no no no, they are simply a typical blend of various types of caffeine designed to inflate your core temp by this much 🤏 and provide a small boost of energy.
