🏀 REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN — Summer Domestic Season 2026/27 🏀
Binar's Summer Domestic Comp is back and it's time to lock in your spot for the season ahead!

📅 This season kicks off a little later than usual — we're pushing our start back to accommodate the Binar squad's trip to Singapore.

Here's what to expect:
🖤 Tuesday U/10 Mixed — starts 27 October 2026, running through to Grand Finals 6 April 2027 (with a break over the holidays)
🩵 Friday Boys (U/12–U/18) — starts 30 October 2026, running through to Grand Finals 9 April 2027 (with a break over the holidays)
🩷 Thursday Girls (U/12–U/18) — starts 29 October 2026, wrapping up with Grand Finals 17 December 2026

👧 A shorter season for our girls this year, as we adjust the age groupings to help set our girls up for the move into WABL.

Meet Laith from our U20 Boys 2 team.

Laith has been playing basketball for six years, first inspired to pick up a ball after watching his dad play. Since then, the game has become a big part of his life, with his parents continuing to be his biggest supporters along the way.

For Laith, being part of Binar is all about the people around him. His teammates and coaches push each other to improve, creating an environment where everyone can grow together.

One of his favourite basketball memories so far? A 48-point game against Lakeside. 🔥

But while putting up 48 was a pretty special achievement, what made the moment even better for Laith was seeing his teammates celebrate the win together.

"Being able to share that moment with my teammates made it a memory I'll always remember."

And his advice to the younger players coming through Binar?

"Don't dwell on the past or the mistakes you've made. Use them as a learning experience and focus on what you can do better next time."

A lesson that goes well beyond the basketball court.

SEMI FINALS | WHAT A DAY 🩵🏀

Yesterday, 9 of our Binar Maali WABL teams took to the court for their Semi Finals, and they left absolutely everything out there.

We witnessed some incredible basketball, big moments, huge effort and some heartbreaking close losses. Every team put up a fight and represented Binar Maali with so much heart and pride.

A massive congratulations to our four Grand Finalists:

🏆 U14 Boys 2
🏆 U14 Girls

They'll be back on court next week with a Grand Final ahead of them. 🩵

To our other teams, your season may have come to an end, but you gave us plenty to be proud of. You fought until the final whistle, and we couldn't be prouder of the way you represented yourselves, your teammates and Binar Maali.

Congratulations to every player, coach and family who has been part of this journey. 🩵

🏀 MEET THE COACH | Spencer Alone Snr 🩵🖤

For Spencer Alone Snr, coaching is a natural continuation of a lifelong love of basketball.

After years spent playing and following the game, coaching has given Spencer the opportunity to stay connected to the sport he loves while sharing his knowledge and experiences with the next generation.

As the U20 Boys 2 coach, Spencer is passionate about developing more than just basketball ability. He wants his players to build confidence, resilience, discipline and the belief that they can achieve their goals through hard work and commitment.

One of the most rewarding parts of coaching for Spencer is watching that growth unfold throughout a season. Seeing players develop, friendships strengthen and a team's love for the game grow is what makes coaching special.

His advice to young players is simple:

"Nothing is ever given to you."

Be coachable. Work hard. Stay committed. Never stop looking for ways to improve.

For Spencer, being part of Binar means being part of an organisation that shares his belief in the power of basketball and community.

"Through basketball, we can build confidence, develop leadership skills, create pathways, and bring people together in a positive and supportive environment."

We're proud to have Spencer bringing his experience, passion and commitment to our U20 Boys 2 team and grateful for the time he gives to developing the next generation.

And for something you might not know about Spencer... he once played WABL for East Perth Eagles in the U16 Boys! 👀🏀

A HISTORIC DAY FOR BINAR MAALI 🩵🖤🏀

12 of our Binar Maali WABL teams took to the court in finals today, and what a day it was.

9 teams have fought their way through to next week’s finals! 🙌

There were some unbelievable performances, including a few huge upsets, with every team playing with incredible heart, determination and pride.

Just as importantly, we loved seeing our teams getting around each other and showing the true spirit of Binar Maali. 🩵🖤

Our three teams who fell short today were all involved in incredibly tight games, and while we can’t win them all, we can always turn up, give everything we’ve got and play with heart.

And that’s exactly what our mob did today.

Proud doesn’t quite cover it.

Congratulations to all 12 teams on an incredible day, and to our 9 teams heading into next week’s finals. We’ll be right behind you! 🩵🖤🏀

🏀 BINAR BALLERS 🏀 Meet J'Quarn Shoveller — U18 Boys 1

Straight outta the Kimberley and bringing the energy every time he steps on the court 💥 Known for his explosive dunks and fast-paced game, J'Quarn creates opportunities for his teammates and never plays at half speed.

But it's not just about the highlight reel. J'Quarn carries his identity and where he comes from onto every court he plays on — and says Binar has become more than a club, it's family.

His journey from the Kimberley hasn't been easy, but with his Dad pushing him to reach his potential and the Binar community behind him, he's only getting started.

His advice to the next generation: "If there's an opportunity, take it. Be a sponge, soak up all the information and learn as much as you can."
