🐎 NBHA PAYOUTS & POINTS – HOW DO THEY WORK? 🏆

We’ve had a few questions about how our payouts, divisions and Buckle Series points work, so here’s a breakdown 👇🏼

💰 OPEN PAYOUTS – 4D

Open payouts are calculated using a 4D format:

• 1D: Fastest time
• 2D: +0.5 seconds from the fastest time
• 3D: +1 second from the fastest time
• 4D: +2 seconds from the fastest time

💰 TEEN & YOUTH PAYOUTS – 3D

Teen and Youth payouts are calculated using a 3D format:

• 1D: Fastest time
• 2D: +1 second from the fastest time
• 3D: +2 seconds from the fastest time

🏆 BUCKLE SERIES POINTS – 5D

For Buckle Series points, Open, Teen and Youth are calculated using a 5D format:

• 1D: Fastest time
• 2D: +0.5 seconds
• 3D: +1 second
• 4D: +1.5 seconds
• 5D: +2 seconds

Because the payout and points systems use different splits, your payout division may be different from your points division for the same run.

🐴 NON-DIVISIONAL CLASSES

The following classes DO NOT use the divisional system:

• LED/ASSISTED
• Maturity
• Futurity
• Poles

These classes are simply placed from the fastest time down.

Hopefully this helps make our payout and points system a little easier to understand! 🐎🩵

All payouts from the weekend have now been processed. You should see the funds come through within the next couple of business days.

🏆 NBHA VIC D01 BUCKLE SERIES POINTS 🏆

And just like that, our first weekend of the 2026 Buckle Series is done! 🤠🐎

With Rounds 1, 2 & 3 completed, our first lot of Buckle Series points are officially on the board! 🔥

This is only the beginning, with plenty more rounds and plenty more points still up for grabs! 👀🏆

Congratulations to everyone on a great first three rounds — the race for those buckles has officially begun! 🤠🔥

📰 How fantastic is this!

We are so excited to see NBHA VIC D1 – Merrijig Barrel Racing featured with a FULL BACK PAGE write-up in our local newspaper — plus a few cheeky snaps inside the paper as well! 🤎📸

It’s pretty special to see our club, competitors and our first event as a new committee getting this kind of recognition. We’re incredibly proud of what we’re building and so grateful to everyone who has supported us.

A massive thank you to Pam Zierk-Mahoney from the Mansfield Courier for the fantastic write-up, photos and for showcasing our sport and club within the local community. We really appreciate the support! 🫶🏼

And of course, thank you to all our competitors, families, sponsors, volunteers and supporters who helped make the weekend what it was.
