Congratulations Jill! We are all cheering for you.

Introducing Jill! ⚡️

What district are you with? I am with NBHA D1 in Victoria, based in Merrijig.

How many horses do you have? I have 3 horses - 2 experienced & 1 newbie.

What are the names of the horses that helped you qualify for Nbha worlds? The experienced are both bay mares - Cassidy & Sky’s The Limit, with both helping me qualify for NBHA Worlds, although Sky’s The Limit was the most prolific.

What divisions did you qualify in? I qualified in a couple of divisions but won Senior & Rookie.

How did you get into barrel racing? I started Barrel Racing at Ag Shows from an early age growing up on a farm in NW Victoria, then Sportinghorse events and much later getting involved in the NBHA barrel racing circuit.

How many horses are you running at worlds? I am running on one horse in the Seniors Comp which will be named on Wednesday(!) the horse is owned & Trained by Nicole Walker, based in Georgia, USA.

Who was your inspiration to start barrel racing? I absolutely loved barrel racing from the start, and was inspired by watching the girls do their thing at local rodeos from a very young age!

Do you have any fun things planned while you are in USA? Aside from the Worlds I am really looking forward to staying at Mountain Lake Lodge in Virginia to visit where Dirty Dancing was filmed!

Any fun facts about you? I am a bit of a swiftie (Taylor Swift), and a long time (tragic) Collingwood Footy Club member - Go Pies!

EVENT UPDATE

Our final weekend will be held on 12–13 December 2026 at Mansfield Showgrounds, with three rounds of barrels and two rounds of poles to finish our series.

We’ll celebrate with a Christmas-themed weekend, our buckle presentation too!
We are looking at having a dinner on the Saturday night. $25 per adult $15 per child. Please let us know your preference for this!

We understand this clashes with the M5 Bacchus Marsh Rodeo on Saturday. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to secure another date before or after this weekend.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to finishing the series with you!

A little trip on the weekend to Mansfield for some barrel racing at NBHA Vic D1 Barrel Racing Club. One of the most supportive and encouraging clubs around!
Turkey, once again, stepped up. Showing how much he enjoys the barrels and that he has been hiding his talents for it by disguising himself as a trotter 😂

Round 4 poles: 🥈 26.007
Round 4: 🥇 in the 2D 19.523
Round 5: 🥉 in the 1D 19.448
Round 6: 🥈 in the 3D 20.212
Round 7: 🥇 in the 2D 19.730

Turkey also showed that he is capable of bringing it back a notch to take care of his junior rider Riley, who is increasing in confidence and speed each run she has on him!

🐎 NBHA VIC D1 – ROUNDS 6 & 7 🐎

Rounds 6 & 7 will see us wrap up our second event for the 2026 season!

Before we kick off tomorrow, just a few important housekeeping reminders.

🧹 YARD CLEANING
All yards MUST be completely cleared of hay, feed and manure before leaving the grounds.

Please respect the facilities we are fortunate enough to use. A cleaning fee will be charged for any yards not left in an acceptable condition.

📢 COMMUNICATION & CONCERNS
If you have any concerns, questions or issues throughout the event, please come and speak to us directly.

We are a volunteer-run club, and our committee works incredibly hard behind the scenes to provide a great experience for everyone.

We are always open to constructive feedback and willing to address concerns, but we cannot fix something we don’t know about.

What we do ask is that concerns are brought to us directly rather than spreading misinformation or discussing issues without knowing the full facts.

We are working hard to build a positive, supportive and welcoming barrel racing community. Respect, communication and sportsmanship go a long way.

At the end of the day, we’re all here for the same reason — our love of horses, barrel racing and the people who make this sport what it is! ❤️

Let’s finish off another fantastic weekend with some fast, clean runs!
