Saturday morning was a GREAT day for football in Northam which saw the 13s and 16s Grand Finals with Merredin & Districts Junior Football Association represented in both fixtures.

Head of Female Football & Talent Pathways (Male) Luke Richardson is pictured below with Liam Askew (13s) and Kaden Alcock (16s) judged best afield in their respective games.

Although the 16s suffered a nail biting defeat to the Northam Saints, the 13s put on a show in a tough contest and came out on top!

“I love being out here.” (Richardson). “Spending more time with our extended falcons family from our zone and seeing the spirit on show excites me for what’s to come in the future. All athletes fought valiantly today and we look forward to welcoming some of these lads into our Metropolitan Programs very soon.”

Session 6 for our Country Academy was incredible.

The importance of ‘stepping into the hoop’ was a focus in terms of tackle technique and engaging in the physical side of our great game!

As we continue our developmental programs and expand our searches into our amazing regional zones - we’ve had the privilege of working Nash GRYLLS, Archie GETHIN and Levi HEASMAN who have been working with our Darren Harris 15s Academy in 2025.

Their commitment to travel was second to none and they’re very much apart of our falcons family ❤️

Session Three of our Country Academy was ELITE. Our clubs’ own regional legend Darcy Dixon joined Head Coach Luke Richardson for a night focused on:

✅ Contested Ball Method and;
✅ Tackle Technique

Thanks to Paul Reid & WA Football for coordinating a combined Central Wheatbelt training session.

Our Head of Football, Clint Rudd led training with support from one of the wheatbelts own, Zac Sprigg. Joe McCarthy also made the trip to Bencubbin as we continue to invest into our country zone!

COUNTRY ACADEMY LAUNCHED🚀

Merredin Oval played host to our first Country Academy session on May 7th. Over 60 athletes, spread across our Regional Zone all converged together to put themselves to the test. Country Academy Head Coach, Luke Richardson, along with current Colt-listed player Riley Groves led the group for a 90-minute session of high intensity ball skills.

We hosted Corrigin vs Kellerberrin/Tammin for some preseason Friday Night Footy tonight under the lights at Joondalup Arena.

Thanks to everyone that was involved, Corrigin got the win 47 vs 40 with Josh Chapman named as BOG.
