🏑Burra vs KK Vipers Recap🏑
Juniors – 1-0 WIN ✅
A fantastic effort from our Juniors on the grass, coming away with a hard-fought 1-0 victory. The team worked well together, moved the ball nicely and took their opportunity when it came.
A special shout-out to Pat O’Neill, who celebrates his 13th birthday today! 🎂🥳 Happy Birthday, Pat! He continues to display exceptional skills every week, and it was great to see his new stick already knows where the back of the net is.
Harry Crees is continuing to find his feet in the midfield and is growing in confidence each week, while Layla Gregory once again controlled the game through the middle of the field. Toby Sharp continues to push himself to the limit every game and never stops competing.
A huge thank you to KK Vipers for lending us three terrific players — Anthea, Mackenzie and Kyah. We loved having you on the field with us!

Women – 3-1 LOSS ❌
A tough contest against a quality opposition. It took us a little while to find our feet in the opening quarter, but once we settled, we showed some great passages of hockey with strong movement through the midfield and plenty of attacking opportunities.
The midfield combination of Grace Garbin and Teagan Shoobridge was outstanding, working tirelessly to create opportunities and drive the team forward. Shannon Postans was a rock in defence, holding up the backline under pressure throughout the game.
It was also fantastic to see Indi Postans step up and show plenty of promise in the half-back line, while Zia Smith made her Women’s debut and slotted seamlessly into the forward line. A great first outing at the higher level!
While the result didn’t go our way, there were plenty of positives to take forward.

B Grade – 2-2 DRAW 🤝
The scoreboard says draw, but what a game it was! Burra controlled large periods of the match and created plenty of attacking chances across all four quarters. Credit to KK Vipers defence, who never backed down and made us work for every opportunity.
The game was controlled through the middle by Toby Sharp, while inside forwards Pat O’Neill and Kailey Fistonich worked tirelessly all game to keep pressure on the opposition defence.
Ella Gregory continues to find the back of the net with remarkable consistency, adding another goal to her growing tally. Meanwhile, Rachel “always in the right spot” Brunetti is becoming a genuine force to be reckoned with up forward, popping up exactly where she needs to be once again.

Men – 5-0 WIN ✅
The Men put together a dominant performance from the opening whistle, controlling the game and keeping the ball moving forward all day.
Jed Shepherd came out absolutely flying, finding the back of the net twice in the opening five minutes before adding another later in the match to complete a well-earned hat-trick 🎩🥅.
Dave Shoobridge graced us with his first appearance of the season and wasted no time making an impact, producing a textbook deflection goal, while Deakin Miller continued his strong form by adding another goal to the tally.
The strength and composure of Josh Cope through the middle of the field, combined with the defensive work of Tom Richardson, ensured Burra controlled possession and continually launched attacks from the back.
