We had a terrific sail for our two club championship races on Saturday 7th of Feb 2026, the wind was pretty good considering the forecast for big gusts when in reality we probably didn't see a gust up to 20 knots, with the wind more in the 12 knot to 16knot range, with a bit of east in the breeze making the water virtually flat. Tim tried out his new to him Taipan 4.9 and learnt before the start that the trapeze rope needs replacing and the under tramp righting rope is not the best concept resulting in him having a great float around but making it to the start, with the cleanest sails in Meningie. Bec had her Taipan 4.9 out with her new mainsheet but unfortunately it wouldn't uncleat so she had to give up for the day, Mick had his A class out but had some problems making him uncompetitive but giving it a go, he did say what the problem was but he mumbles so much I had no idea what he was talking about hehehe. Brian and Mike on the RL24 had ideal weather but missed their first start by ten minutes because they were just enjoying sailing around, Peter and Alby being ruthless took off like scared rabbits and gave them a good flogging in that race, with line honors for the mono's in both races. Liz and Jeff on the Nacra 5.8 had a great couple of races taking line honors in both races for the cats and had a great tussle with Tim in the second race once he worked a few things out on his boat. Thankyou to Robbie for taking the photos with the borrowed camera, the first of them are a bit blury as he worked out the camera but then he got some great shots once he got he worked it out
We have two more races this Saturday the 14th Feb 2026 with the same forecast so far, see you there
