โ Why donโt we forward face during a Kangatraining classโ
Yours and your babyโs safety is our top priority here at Kangatraining, so here are a few reasons why we donโt have our babies facing out during class.
๐ Movement often puts a baby to sleep, and sleeping in a forward facing position isnโt safe as your baby could slump forward which poses an asphyxiation risk. If your child falls asleep forward facing you will need to turn them to face into you.
๐ If you fall (fingers crossed that you donโt), you wonโt be able to cover and protect your baby. It is difficult to break your fall without your baby hitting the floor.
๐ Ergonomically it is harder on both your body and your babies. They wonโt have the support they need, more pressure is put on your lower back and pelvic floor, and your centre of gravity will be different โ keeping correct form will be difficult which could lead to injury.
๐ Forward facing can cause over stimulation, as a rule of thumb forward facing should be limited to 15-20 minutes at a time.
