* A lightweight 16-year-old Luke Hails — now the instructor of our Saturday kumite squad class

* Sensei Carsten, watching on keenly — he’s teaching in the dojo on Saturdays

* Sensei Michael, captured in a refereeing frozen moment

And the link between all three? In the past three years, they’ve each won at least one major competition!

Sensei Liz is the most knowledgeable, engaging and captivating of instructors... and drove the Guardian Girls Instructor Course where Ishinryu's NSW Chief Instructor Sensei Alison, and assistant instructor Sempai Nerralie, gained their accreditation in April 👊🩷

Watch out for the full course being taught at Ishinryu's Menai dojo in November/December 👊

We are incredibly honoured to have Guardian Girls Karate recognised in NSW Parliament through a Community Recognition Statement delivered by Liesl Tesch MP, Member for Gosford.

This recognition acknowledges the important work of Guardian Girls Karate in empowering women and girls through confidence, awareness, personal safety and practical skills.

What began with a simple purpose continues to grow — creating safer, stronger and more confident women and girls through karate.

Meet KarateKids, Karate Australia’s Sporting Schools program for primary students.

Through age-appropriate activities and structured karate training, students can develop coordination, confidence, focus and respect in an inclusive learning environment.

No previous karate experience is needed. Students are encouraged to participate, learn at their own pace and celebrate progress together.

It is a school sport with benefits that can travel back into the classroom, playground and everyday life.
