Ishinryu Karate Australia

Ishinryu Karate Australia Ishinryu Karate Australia is based in Sydney, Australia. Our founder is Sensei Tony Hails 8th Dan and chief instructor Sensei Alison Peachey 7th Dan

We are an experienced karate club with a focus on a quality experience for all our students in their journey to black belt and beyond. Our Australian Head of Style of Ishinryu is Sensei Tony Hails 8th Dan, and our NSW Chief Instructor Sensei Alison Peachey 6th Dan. Our team of black belt instructors are highly trained and experienced. All hold WWCC and SportAus/AIS accreditation, and some are also

school teachers - we know how to differentiate our teaching so that students may work towards their fullest potential. We cater for adults and kids separately, and also family classes where mum and dad can train with the kids. We offer a pathway to elite competition with current National coaches and referees, and former champions, as instructors. We are thrilled to offer specific classes for 4-7 and 8-12 years children, taught be experienced black belt instructors. Our teen and adult classes highlight that age is not a consideration for commencing a martial art πŸ‘Šβ€

NSW Cup πŸ†

Such a fabulous day for all our athletes.

But competition is not all about medals and winning. It's the personal growth, applying tailored feedback from the dojo on the unpredictable comp tatami, and being a kind human.

So the best thing we saw yesterday? The way they cheered for each other πŸ₯°

(Highlight of the day: Kenta jumping and clapping as Max won bronze)

Help us shape our July school holiday program πŸ‘ŠπŸŒŸ Complete the 2 minute survey!

We have so much diverse talent amongst our instructing team that we can offer a range of innovative and invigorating one-off and short courses for our current students, those who've been out of the dojo for a while, and our non-karate friends and family.

We've come up with this intriguing list (full descriptions are in the survey), and the last four are suitable for non-Ishinryu family and friends and beginners:

β€’ Kata Masterclasses
β€’ Fight Night
β€’ Brown Belt Grading Preparation Intensive
β€’ Returning Student Brush-Up Sessions
β€’ Guardian Girls Karate
β€’ Move Better, Feel Better
β€’ Free 15-Minute Intro Session
β€’ Karate Kickstart – New Students

We're planning our next school holiday program and would love to know what YOU would like to do. Please indicate which classes and courses you, your family or friends would be interested in attending and then we'll get organising! Now many sessions listed are for non-Ishinryu students, so forward th...
