🌽🌽 DIETS 🥦🥦
When you want to start a diet there is 1 common theme we want to achieve, and that’s to lose some weight and to feel better about ourself. 💪🏻💪🏻
There a so many different types of diets in the world:
Paleo, Keto, 2 and 5, Intermittent fasting, Carnivore and IIFYM
Just to name a few, but they all achieve results in the same way - Calorie deficit 🥗🥩🌽🍳🥦
But what exactly does that mean? A calorie deficit means consuming fewer calories than your body burns on a daily basis.
When you're in a calorie deficit, your body is forced to use stored energy (body fat) to fuel itself, which can lead to weight loss.
There are a few different ways to create a calorie deficit. One way is to simply eat less food. This can be achieved by tracking your daily calorie intake and aiming to consume fewer calories than your body burns. Another approach is to increase your level of physical activity, which can help you burn more calories and create a larger deficit, (tracking your daily steps can be a huge factor towards this)🚶🚶
It's important to note that creating a calorie deficit doesn't mean you have to deprive yourself or massively restrict your food intake. In fact, taking an overly restrictive approach can be counterproductive, as it can lead to feelings of deprivation and trigger binge eating that will undo all the days of restrictive eating.
Instead, we need to focus on making sustainable changes to your eating habits and lifestyle. This might include eating more whole, nutrient-dense foods, incorporating more movement into your daily routine, and finding healthy ways to manage stress as well as prioritising sleep 💤
Remember, weight loss is not a one-size-fits-all solution, and what works for one person may not work for another as everyone’s lifestyles are different in some way so It's important to find an approach that feels sustainable and enjoyable for you, so that you can stick with it for a prolonged period as consistency is what is going to get us to our end goal.
With a little patience and persistence, creating a calorie deficit can be a powerful tool for achieving lasting weight loss and improving your overall health and well-being
