How good is this for NWBA and Gladstone Bowling Club.
Following last night being crowned the State Women's Pairs Champion with Judith Millington from Laura, Daisy Coe has now progressed through to the State Women's Singles Gold Medal game against Karen Gatto from Ascot Park Bowling Club.
Daisy got away to a very good start however Karen steadied and gradually gained control to eventually run out the winner 21/18. What a performance for a young teenager up against a very seasoned and experienced State player. Congratulation must go to Karen Gatto for an outstanding performance to win the State Singles title. I had the pleasure of watching the game live and Daisy’s demeanour and how she played the game is an absolute credit to her, a wonderful role model for any bowler. Super effort Daisy you are a budding Champion. Congratulations for an unbelievable and very successful Champions week. We are exceptional proud of you, and you should be extremely pleased and very proud with this performance. Well done.

STATE WOMEN'S PAIRS CHAMPIONS – Region 3 NWBA Gladstone and Laura - Judith Millington and Daisy Coe.
A huge congratulations to both girls, what an outstanding achievement. Both played brilliant bowls throughout the day capped off with a decisive win in the final 18/5.
Daisy and Judith will now go on to represent South Australia at the National Championships later this year. How good is that. Gladstone and Laura have once again produced 2 great Champions, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. Massive well done to you both, enjoy and savour the win and good luck later this year in the Nationals.

The last of the NWBA Grand Finals were played this week.
On Wednesday the Blieschke Shield Final East v West was played at Laura, Port Pirie White (West) and Orroroo (East). A thrilling game throughout the day with a come from behind victory to Orroroo by just 3 shots. Congratulations to Orroroo winners of the 2025/25 Blieschke Shield.
On Thursday Div 1 and Div 2 Ladies Pennants Finals were played at Laura. Crystal Brook was represented in both Divisions playing BHAS in Div 1 and Gladstone in Div 2. There was an excellent crowd at the finals to support their respective teams.
Div 2 - the rink wins were shared however the Gladstone ladies had a comfortable 57 to 31 win over Crystal Brook. Congratulations to Gladstone it is their first premiership in the ladies’ pennants since 1983. A long time ago so I am sure they will celebrate their win.
Div 1 - again the rink wins were shared however the overall total was much closer with BHAS the eventual winners by the narrow margin of just 2 shots. Congratulations to BHAS this being their third premiership in a row.
Well done to Crystal Brook for making the grand final in both Divisions.
