What a day! 🙌

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made the trip up to for the 2026 Remarkable Gravel Grind.

We had just over 100 riders rolling through our backyard today… plus a few wandering sheep doing their own kind of gravel adventure 🐑😅

We hope you soaked up everything our beautiful region has to offer and, most importantly, had a safe and memorable ride.

Your support means more than you might realise — every coffee, meal, stay and stop along the way helps keep our little town and thriving ❤️

We’re already dreaming up next year… bigger, better, and even more reason to come back. Bring your mates, spread the word, and we’ll see you again in 2027 🚴‍♂️🔥

Here's some final handy bits to keep things smooth (and fun) this weekend.....

🚻 Facilities sorted
Public toilets are available at Wirrabara Forest picnic area, Stone Hut, Wirrabara, and Booleroo Centre — plan your pit stops wisely 😉

🥤 Fuel for the ride
Legends from Bike Melrose Mountain Bike Club will be running both feed stations (Six Poles & corner of Snake Gully and Collins Rds), keeping you rolling with that sweet Coca-Cola rocket fuel for the surge home 🚀

Plus, the champs at Joe’s Corner Gift Shop & Games Room have you covered with water, bananas, biscuits, lollies, and gels 🍌🍪 Pop in and visit them this weekend. They have cool stuff!!

🚌 Got your back
The ‘Beyond the Mount’ support bus will be cruising around all day — whether you need a boost, a cheer squad, or a lift home if things get a bit… character-building 😅

The Long Course of the Remarkable Gravel Grind 2026 awaits. A journey not for the faint of heart, but for those ready to answer the call of the open gravel road.

Depart from the Remarkable Trailhead at first light (7:00am recommended), and set forth on a quest worthy of legend. Climb up the famed Bridle Track, to the sacred heights of the Six Poles, where breathtaking views over the Wirrabara and Telowie Range stretch far beyond the horizon.

Pass through the quiet realms of Stone Hut and Wirrabara, where travellers may rest, refuel, and gather strength for the roads ahead.

Then… the journey home. A triumphant return along the flowing Rail Trail, your red carpet ride past the silos, guiding you safely back from whence you came.

This course has been forged and finely curated by our local Gravel Legends — every turn, every climb, every vista chosen with care.

We’re pumped to officially announce the Short Course option for this year’s Remarkable Gravel Grind in !

Perfect for those chasing a taste of the grind without the full send.

Expect epic views, quality gravel, and all the good vibes that make this weekend special.

• Recommended departure: 8:30am

• Meet at: Remarkable Trailhead

• Climb to the turnaround at the top of the Bridle Track — the iconic “Six Poles” We'll be waiting to greet you!

• Take in stunning views across the Southern Flinders Ranges

• Roll back via the beautiful, tree-lined Glenorchy Road

• Finish with unreal views out to the Willowie Plains, passing the local silos on the way home.

Get around this Gravel Ride on the Eyre Peninsula. 👌👍

The super cool events for the Eyre Peninsula region just keep coming! Get your gravel or mountain bike ready and lock in the Saturday 20 April 2024 Peak, Pedal & Pints family friendly gravel riding event at Darke Peak (Short drive NW of Cleve). If you haven't been there you must definitly check it out. They have some of the best gravel roads and outback scenery in the state. There are 3 different length rides to choose from including the nice and easy 30km loop around the Darke Range, a 60km exploration around the Darke Range, Carappee Hill and amazing gravel goodness east of Darke Peak or the epic 120km+ journey from Darke Peak to Cleve and back via the Darke Range, Cleve Hills and stunning Carappee Hill.

Stick around after the ride for plenty of food, drink and entertainment.
