Pull ups are one of the best exercises when it comes to building upper body strength, but performing them well can be difficult. Whether you’re a beginner or already have some advanced pull-up skills, there are certain aspects of your technique that you should always focus on to squeeze maximum benefit out of each rep. First, make sure your grip is just wide enough so that your hands fit in line with your shoulders – no wider or narrower. Second, don't hold your breath as you lift yourself up; instead, breathe out and use your back muscles to crunch yourself up. Finally, concentrate on keeping proper form throughout the motion by maintaining a straight body line from shoulders to ankles and avoid arching away from the bar as you go up. With full focus on these three factors in each and every rep, you’ll be improving your pull-up technique in no time!
