***UPDATE*** A huge thank you to the amazing volunteers who have reached out to fill the core roles for this weekend for the event to go ahead.
To all our volunteers, you’re the MVP’s that keeps this event happening 🥰

📣 3rd and Final Call for Saturday 27th June 📣

Well actually it’s the 4th call if you include the callout during the weekends summary 🤷‍♀️

We still have 3 positions to fill for us to run a safe event. We will make a call Thursday 7pm.
If you didn’t see, our neighbours down the freeway, Brimbank, cancelled due a lack of volunteers last weekend.

Volunteering is not only easy and fun but it’s an essential part of the sustainability of our event. It is not sustainable for the same people to keep filling holes in our roster week in, week out when our event numbers are amazingly healthy.
So if you haven’t volunteered in a while or have been considering sticking up your hand this is a great opportunity and we’d love to hear from you.

🐾🐕 Barkrunners: Just a friendly reminder that all dogs at parkrun events are to be on a short, hand-held, non-extendable lead, to the side of their handler, and within arms reach. 1 dog per person 🐕🐾

❌ Waist harnesses and extendable leads are no longer permitted ❌

❗️This is a parkrun Global requirement❗️

Altona Beach parkrun
Event number 521
20th of June 2026

This week 114 people ran, jogged, walked and swam the course, of whom 9 were first timers and 10 recorded new Personal Bests in cold and wet conditions. The numbers were made up of participants from 9 clubs.

The event was made possible by 12 amazing volunteers:

Next week our roster is looking skinny, with the following core positions needing to be filled to go ahead:

🤳 Barcode scanner x 2
✔️Event day course check (can be done and you can do the course as well)
📣 First timers welcome (can be done and you can do the course as well)

Great to have but not essential for the event to go ahead:

📸 Photographer (can be done whilst doing the course as well).

We love meeting new people and our RD’s are an amazing bunch to get to volunteer with who will give training and help on the day if you’re unsure of a role.

We also have a lot of lost property! So please reach out if you’re missing clothing, as it will be dropped to goodwill if not claimed.
