We all have 24 hours in a day.
Some of us busier than others.
What’s important is how we use them.
Maybe you don’t have much spare time.
But creating time for fitness is about making the most of what you’ve got.
For me it starts with my calendar.
Everything goes in it.
When I see my day on paper I can spot the gaps.
The random 15, 20, 30 minute blocks I’m wasting.
It’s like playing Tetris.
Moving things around to create time.
That’s how I fit training in.
Quick. Effective workouts.
Thirty minutes and done.
Train properly three to four times a week and you’re fine.
This might be controversial but I’m big on steps.
And it’s much quicker to hit 10,000 steps running than walking.
If time is tight.
Run.
Do some form of high intensity cardio.
If you prefer walking.
Get a walking pad and walk while you work.
If I have time to walk I’ll absolutely do that, sometimes we just need to get it done quick.
Another random one.
Online grocery shopping.
I order the same foods every week.
Five minutes to order.
Ten minutes to pick up.
That saves me nearly an hour in the shops.
Which I can use for meal prep.
Sleep.
Eight hours is what I need.
Any more than that is wasted for me.
Alarm goes off. Get up. Why sleep for 10 hours if you don’t need to? Don’t hit snooze.
My mindset is simple.
How can I be as time efficient as possible?
That’s how I create more time.
